General situation of education department of Beijing Normal University
Beijing Normal University emancipates the mind, innovates the mechanism, integrates resources and highlights its characteristics. With the strategic goal of building a world-class education discipline and integrating the relevant units of the original education discipline, the Department of Education was established in 2009. The Ministry of Education consists of the former Institute of Education, the Institute of Education Management, the Institute of Educational Technology, the Capital Institute of Educational Economics, the Capital Institute of Basic Education, the Institute of Rural Education and Rural Development, the Quality Monitoring Center of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education, and the United Nations International Rural Education Research and Training Center. At present, the department has 14 departments and institutes, which undertake important responsibilities such as discipline construction, scientific research, personnel training and social service. The department has high-level professional journals such as Comparative Education Research, Pedagogy Journal, Teacher Education Research and Teacher China, which disseminate China's educational academic thoughts and display the latest educational research results.

With a long history and strong strength, Beijing Normal University is the first institution in China to set up an authorization point for master's degree and doctoral degree in education, the first institution to educate Post-Doctoral Research Center and the first institution to authorize doctoral degree in education. The comprehensive strength of the discipline ranks at the leading level in China, ranking first in the first-level discipline evaluation of national pedagogy for many years. The department has a national key discipline of education; There are 13 doctoral degree authorization points, 17 master degree authorization points, and 5 undergraduate majors, among which special pedagogy and educational technology are the characteristic specialty construction points of the Ministry of Education; Important bases such as Comparative Education Research Center of Humanities and Social Sciences Base of Ministry of Education, Teacher Education Research Center of Humanities and Social Sciences Base of Ministry of Education, Digital Learning and Education Public Service Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education; The Ministry of Education has two special majors.

There are 2377 students in the department, including 60 undergraduates, 944 master students, 245 doctoral students and 587 students with professional degrees.
