Can universities punish students without factual basis?
Universities have no factual basis and cannot be punished. According to Article 53 of the Regulations on the Management of Students in Colleges and Universities, the school shall issue a written decision on the punishment of students. The penalty decision shall include the following contents:

(1) Basic information of students.

(two) the facts and evidence of punishment.

(three) the types, basis and duration of punishment.

(four) the way and time limit of the complaint.

(5) Other necessary contents.

Article 56 of the Regulations on the Administration of Students in Ordinary Colleges and Universities shall be submitted to the president's office meeting or a special meeting authorized by the president in advance to study and review the legality of the decision on the cancellation of admission qualification, cancellation of student status, withdrawal from school, expulsion from school or other handling or punishment decisions involving the major interests of students.

Fifty-seventh in addition to the punishment of expulsion from school, the punishment period for students should generally be set at 6 to 12 months and terminated according to the procedures stipulated by the school. After the punishment is lifted, students will be commended, rewarded and other rights and interests, and will no longer be affected by the original punishment.
