The latest regulations on primary school enrollment in Chongqing in 2023
The latest regulations on the age of primary school entrance in Chongqing in 2023 are as follows:

According to the Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Regulations of Chongqing Municipality on Compulsory Education, parents or other legal guardians of children who have reached the age of 6 should send them to school to receive and complete compulsory education before August 3 1 2023 (including August 3 1). The school age of children in special education schools and village schools (spots) in rural areas that do not have the conditions may be appropriately relaxed.

If it is necessary to postpone enrollment or drop out of school due to physical condition, the parents or other legal guardians shall apply and report to the education administrative department of the local district and county people's government for the record, and the education administrative department and the school shall track their enrollment.

In June 2006, the Measures for the Administration of Students' Enrollment in Compulsory Education in Chongqing clearly stipulated the age of primary school enrollment: "All children who have reached the age of 6 years before August 3 1 (including August 3 1) of the school year shall be guaranteed by the education administrative departments of districts and counties (autonomous counties) according to law.

For children who need to drop out of school for special reasons, Article 11 of the Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates: "If school-age children and adolescents need to drop out of school or drop out of school due to their physical condition, their parents or other legal guardians shall apply and get approval from the local township people's government or the education administrative department of the county-level people's government."
