When do nurses start taking continuing education credits?
Nurses should participate in continuing medical education in the year of obtaining qualification certificate and registering for practice, and cannot participate in continuing medical education before. According to the requirements for credits in Chapter 4 of the Notice of Sichuan Provincial Health Department on Printing and Distributing the Administrative Measures for Credits of Continuing Medical Education in Sichuan Province (for Trial Implementation) (Chuan Wei Fa [2005] No.3), please study by yourself: Article 8 Continuing medical education shall be subject to a credit accumulation system, which shall be calculated cumulatively according to the evaluation and appointment cycle of current professional and technical positions (from the year of employment to the year of application for promotion). Article 9 Anyone who is engaged in medical and health professional and technical work shall receive corresponding continuing medical education credits every year: senior medical and health professional and technical personnel in medical and health institutions at or above the county level shall receive 25 credits every year, among which senior medical and health professional and technical personnel shall receive Class I credits 10; Intermediate medical and health professional and technical personnel should receive 5 credits for Class I credits; Senior medical and health professionals in provincial medical and health units and tertiary hospitals must obtain the national continuing medical education project 10 credits within five years; Medical and health professionals in minority counties and counties enjoying minority treatment are not required to obtain Class I credits; Medical and health professionals at the grass-roots level in medical and health institutions at or above the county level receive 25 credits for Class II every year; Medical and health professionals in township hospitals should receive 20 credits for Class II every year; Rural doctors get 8 credits for Class II every year.
