School of Dentistry of new york University, founded in 1865, is an old dental school with a history of 140 years. She is located on First Avenue in Manhattan, new york, next to the famous East River in new york. In the bustling city, she shows a unique academic atmosphere and provides unique academic opportunities.

The Faculty of Dentistry of new york University has a strong faculty, including nearly 300 full-time clinical teachers and 700 part-time clinical teachers. There are about 1700 students majoring in dentistry, which means there is one clinical teacher for every two students. Clinical Doctor of Dentistry (DDS) is the main training goal of dental college. Every year, more than 300 dental clinicians, 45 dentists and 65,438+000 oral hygienists (college and university degrees) graduate from the School of Dentistry of new york University. Hirsch is the vice president of the School of Dentistry, responsible for the international education and exchange of the whole school, and Ms. Dolores Spinelli is the senior director of the international project department, responsible for the daily education and life of international dental students in the United States. In order to facilitate more dentists from China and Asia to participate in the international advanced education and training courses for dentists in the future, new york University also transferred a Ms. Ruan Li from China as the deputy director of the international program, and Mr. Ron Eckhardt helped foreign dentists to apply for admission. Any student who has any problems in school study and life can ask them for help.

Foreign dentists who have participated in the "International Advanced Continuing Education and Training Course for Dentists" can obtain qualification certificates and transcripts issued by new york University after completing the training. To get these diplomas, dentists all over the world need to work very hard. They not only gain more extensive knowledge in the professional field, but also practice medicine as a human being. The certificate of "International Advanced Continuing Education Training Course for Dentists" issued by the School of Dentistry of new york University in the United States has been accepted and recognized by many countries in the world. Due to the rich clinical experience of the training course, its qualification certificate even exceeds some doctoral or master's degree certificates, which shows its high gold content. At the same time, foreign dentists have access to American dental education system and culture. As the only two dentists from Chinese mainland, I entered general dentistry and received comprehensive dental treatment training. There are 15 dentists from 1 1 country in my class, and there are 6 full-time and part-time clinical instructors. In the course, 50% of the time is arranged for clinical practice, and the other 50% is part of pre-clinical training, mechanical and head imitation practice, and the other part is lectures and teaching of scientific research methods combined with clinical practice.

The School of Dentistry of new york University has sufficient sources of diseases for students' clinical practice. The International Advanced Continuing Education and Training Course for Dentists is very compact. Lectures or preclinical training are usually arranged at 8: 00 am, starting at outpatient clinic 10 and ending at 8: 00 pm. Only half an hour at noon to 1 hour for lunch, simple hamburgers or sandwiches to fill your stomach, and continue to go back to the clinic to see patients. Not only students should keep such a tense life, but also clinical instructors should be like students, many of whom are famous dental experts in new york. In every clinic, they even insist that the last student finish all the work and sign one by one before leaving. As a dentist in China, I not only learned the professional knowledge of dentistry from them, but also learned their professional quality. The latter has a greater impact on my future medical career.

Perhaps because I am the first student from China, the International Program Department of the School of Dentistry of new york University attaches great importance to me. I meet with Professor Hirsch and Ms. Spinelli, vice principals, regularly every two weeks to listen to my views and experiences on learning and help me solve some problems in my life. For me, a China native who came to the United States for the first time, their patience and kindness are undoubtedly timely help. I hope they can come to China in the future, and let me do my best as a host in return.

During my study, I also have the opportunity to attend the annual meeting of the American Chinese Dental Association (CADA). About 300 China dentists and dental students from new york, New Jersey and Connecticut attended the annual meeting. Professor Hirsch, vice president of the School of Dentistry of new york University, and two vice presidents of the School of Dentistry of Columbia University also led the staff of their respective schools to attend the conference and delivered speeches to congratulate them. Most of the founders of CADA are dentists who graduated from new york University, and some of them are still visiting teachers in the School of Dentistry of new york University. More than 300 people got together to talk about friendship. I deeply feel that China people can integrate into American society so deeply, which is their achievement through years of hard work.

A short semester has benefited me a lot, my professional knowledge has been improved and my horizons have been broadened. In the School of Dentistry of new york University, there are still new study and work opportunities waiting for me. For our dentists in China, the world is so small that we can do it if we want to.
