Yancheng Teachers College has two campuses: the new campus (Xinchang campus) and the old campus (Tongyu campus).

New campus: School of Political Science and Law, School of Public Administration, School of Music, School of Fine Arts and Design, School of New Energy and Electronic Technology, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Ocean and Biological Engineering, School of Pharmacy, School of Urban Planning and Business School.

Old campus: College of Literature, College of Education Science, College of Foreign Languages, College of Information Science and Technology, College of Physical Education.

The school was founded in 1958, and its predecessor was Yancheng Teachers College and Yancheng Education College. In 2002, Yancheng Commercial School, a national key technical secondary school, merged. The school has two campuses, Tongyu and Xinchang, covering an area of 1.500 mu.

There are more than 2 1000 full-time undergraduates, 2 18 secondary colleges and 77 undergraduate majors, including 4 normal majors and 63 non-normal majors.

It is a national model school for standardization of spoken and written languages, a national teacher training base, a pilot school for education and training programs for outstanding teachers and engineers in the province, an innovative experimental base for talent training mode in the province and a training base for international service outsourcing talents in the province. It is the lead unit of Yancheng University Teaching Consortium designated by the Provincial Department of Education.
