In the 1990s, there were more than 4 million private teachers in China. In extremely difficult environment, they shouldered the heavy responsibility of "preaching, teaching and dispelling doubts" for more than 1 100 million rural primary and secondary school students. Sensing this phenomenon, Liu Xinglong wrote a novella "Feng Qin" for them at 1992. After the great success of The Phoenix Piano, Liu Xinglong received many letters from readers, hoping to see the sequel to the novel. Liu Xinglong ignored these letters.
