Ielts 8 points experience talk: listening, speaking, reading and writing four aspects of ultra-detailed raiders! ! [100% must see] 2010 July 25th 10:53:2 1

First, let's take a screenshot.

Write in front

First of all, I am an English major in beijing language and culture university. I am a sophomore and will be a junior soon. In other words, I studied English systematically for two years and kept a state of knowing nothing but English for two years. Therefore, as a well-trained student, it is normal to get 8 points, just because you have more time to study English.

Secondly, this is actually an experience written for my New Oriental writing teacher. Because there is an exchange program, you are selected first, and the IELTS score is not lower than 6.5. There is no problem that the higher the score, the better. So I don't want to do too much preparation, but the IELTS test is full of mystery. In order to understand the questions and rules more efficiently, I signed up for the IELTS day class. After the exam, I made a phone call with the girls I met in my class and asked each other about the scores. She said that you can apply for a scholarship to New Oriental. As soon as I heard that I had money, I went to the headquarters with my backpack in the afternoon. I really got the scholarship of 1280, and then I filled out several forms and registered. Then my IELTS writing teacher contacted me and said, "Write me an article and I'll treat you to dinner!" " "Then I earnestly wrote a long experience and sent it to the teacher's mailbox. Then, she replied "Good boy, hehe" and … so, what adults say is not credible … You will see a lot of New Oriental words in it, which is a bit like advertisements. Please filter them automatically. Awkward.

Finally, because I am an English major, I have no special preparation, and many of them are tips I usually learn. Pay more attention to the improvement of strength. However, I always believe that I can improve my strength and get high marks by the way.

The following is my experience to the writing teacher. ...

IELTS 8-point experience: improve your strength and get high marks by the way.

I vaguely remember that on June 10, I held my breath and opened the personal homepage of the IELTS test, and saw my own achievements. The total score was 8, including listening 8.5, reading 9, writing 7.5 and speaking 7. (The perfect score is 9, I always thought it was 10 ...) I was unhappy, but I was greatly relieved. It's not bad after 6.5.

As a sophomore majoring in English in beijing language and culture university, I feel that my score of 8 points is nothing to be proud of. After all, I have studied English systematically at school for two years. If you get 8.5, you can be considered a qualified sophomore majoring in English. I signed up for the IELTS test because I participated in the public exchange program between the school and Newcastle University in England, so I have to submit my IELTS score (above 6.5 points). Because the requirements are not very high, and my studies are very heavy at ordinary times, I want to get a decent score in the least time. Therefore, in order to prepare for the exam more efficiently, it is more important to always yearn for the teaching atmosphere of New Oriental and sign up for IELTS day classes at ordinary times.

aural comprehension

I think there are two important points in listening, one is the ability to answer questions, and the other is listening ability.

1' s ability to answer questions is mainly the ability to read questions quickly and draw keywords. And the ability to answer questions while listening. The teacher will talk about keyword drawing, so I won't talk about it. Basically, this ability can be trained by doing three or four sets of questions.

The ability to answer questions is very important, but as Mr. Zheng often says, skills are not as good as sticks. The key is the ability to listen.

Listening ability: the combination of intensive listening and extensive listening, mainly intensive listening.

(1) Recommended Teaching Material for Intensive Listening: Forever Classic treading on thin ice.

Among them, personally, although there are four volumes, it seems that the third volume is better in terms of difficulty. Covering aviation, science and technology, architecture and so on. It is not only an inspection of listening but also an inspection of humanistic knowledge.

My listening benefits from step by step 3.

I have listened to this book for more than 30 times in more than a month (reviewing the final exam of the sophomore last semester), and 5 times is the critical point.

The first 5 times, listen blindly. Listening without reading the material is a somewhat depressing process.

The next five times, look at the material and listen, focusing on the parts that you didn't hear when you were blind, as well as new words and sentence structures.

Then summarize the new words, unfamiliar phrases and sentence structures in the book. Take notes.

The next five times, continue to listen blindly, the difference is that you have to check. You can listen to it sentence by sentence, and look it up if you don't understand it. If you understand one sentence, go to the next one. If the level is good, you can listen to it paragraph by paragraph and then check it. Students who are not easy to concentrate can choose dictation. Although the speed is slow, it can guarantee the quality. Write down what you didn't hear.

For the next five times, I still looked at the materials and listened. The difference is that I focused on what I didn't hear at first. And sum up the reasons why I didn't hear it, whether it was because the pronunciation was wrong, or even skimming didn't have explosive power, or the difference between English and American sounds, all of which were summed up.

In the next five times, I will still focus on what I didn't hear. The difference is that this time I will imitate what I didn't hear until it is vivid. You can record it, compare it and find out the gap.

For the next five times, I still listened blindly. The difference is that this time I pay attention to grasp the meaning of the full text and really understand it. After all, the first 20 times are the process of distinguishing sounds. You may have heard every word, but you don't know what it means to connect them together. These five times are to solve this problem.

The next five times: do the problem. Now it's just a problem-solving stage. Doing the problem is not always the most important, the most important thing is to grasp the full text. It's listening to itself. But we can't ignore it. After all, it can also test our ability to quickly capture information and take shorthand.

In fact, after 30 times, I also did about 78 times. Blind listening plus counseling (intensive) and extensive listening are also effective when walking.

(2) Listen extensively:

Listen carefully. Extensive listening works, but only extensive listening works slowly. But if combined with intensive listening, it will have a good effect. Since you want to listen widely, you should resist all subtitles, whether in Chinese or English. During the summer vacation of my freshman year, I watched Friends. I didn't understand it at first. I watched it for more than ten days without subtitles, and suddenly I understood 70% to 80%. If there are subtitles, many people will rely on their eyes instead of their ears. The purpose of extensive listening is also difficult to achieve.

Listening doesn't need too many words. If you have time, students can learn the listening materials of Jian 3 to 7 systematically according to the above methods and master all the new words in these books. According to the teacher, the difficult words in the IELTS listening test are all in the materials of these books. There is not enough time to do it this time. It is estimated that I will do this job when I am preparing to retake the exam in my senior year.

read

IELTS reading pays great attention to skills. Two candidates who have almost the same English strength answer IELTS reading, and the scores of candidates who have studied the questions will definitely be higher than those who have taken the naked test. But judging from the true and false topics, there are many stresses.

Whether it is self-study or class with teachers, the most important thing is to summarize. There are not many topics. In my opinion, a topic only needs three topics. Start with the topic, try not to read the original text, look at the topic directly, and then. Finding the key words, returning to the original text and positioning accurately are the most important things. Our purpose is to answer questions, that is, to score points, not to read articles, especially when articles are difficult to read.

I remember that when I was preparing for the exam (actually, when I was preparing for the final intensive reading exam, but the reading questions of IELTS were different in form and similar in substance), I concentrated on doing three or two readings every day, and studied and classified several major questions such as theme, author's point of view, right and wrong questions and inference questions. Everything written next to basic reading is crooked ways.

For example, inference questions are implied, inferred and summarized from the type, and the answer is generally located at the turning point of the paragraph specified in the topic. That is, but, though, anyway. It works every time. It should be noted that if but appears, then the answer must be after but, that is, …, but…, and the second ellipsis refers to the answer. The same applies to Howvever. However, if it is though, on the contrary, ..., although ... the answer is in the first ellipsis. To sum up, the inference question, the answer is located after the clause followed by but how and the clause followed by which.

Another example is the topic question, which also includes the question type of adding the title to the full text. For IELTS, the topics are mostly located in the first two sentences of the first paragraph and the last sentence of the first paragraph. Just sum up these two sentences. First, select the key words reproduced in these three sentences, and then summarize the meanings of these three sentences before choosing.

For example, ask what the question is.

Go back to the original text to find this example first, then look around the example, and find a general and abstract expression up and down (mainly up), usually an argument. The most common trap of the example topic is to talk about the matter, and take out the content of the example for you to choose. Such options are all wrong.

In fact, there are too many such examples. The key is to summarize. Not many questions, really not many. One question type and three questions are enough to get through.

It is also important to find your own problems, but mechanical problem-solving will not improve unless it is summarized. Although I just followed the teacher in class and didn't do much after class, I summarized every question. I find that my problem lies in taking it for granted, and I like to infer for myself. Then I found that the correct answers are basically agreed to replace the original text, and rarely inferred. Even the question of "inferring implication" is based on options that are not inferred from the original text. After discovering this problem, the correct rate has been greatly improved.

writing

I think the most important thing in writing is the use of advanced vocabulary, the flexible use of templates, writing and the setting of highlights.

The first is the use of advanced vocabulary. I think the most important thing is to recite, study and recite classic model essays. I chose more than a dozen essays with high scores in TEM4 (this job was done when I was preparing for TEM4). The first step is to study the model essay carefully and summarize the words (advanced vocabulary and related words), phrases and sentence patterns, appositive clauses, adverbial clauses, nominal clauses and accompanying adverbials. The second step is to recite the whole text. You must know everything. Although I don't recite many articles, I know them by heart. I actually selected 20 articles at the beginning, but five or six of them were only sketchy, and there was no review or repetition in the follow-up, so these articles hardly played any role. So come back, come back to your heart. Otherwise, the efforts will be in vain. Step 3: Imitate. For example, if you recite an article about education, you can write a similar topic yourself. This is an application process and it is also very important. If you simply recite the model essay without using it, you will find that these good words and sentences exist in your mind as a whole, although they are well recited. Very rigid. But after parody, those advanced words, sentence patterns and phrases all exist alone, and you can think of them when you want to call them.

After three-step study of more than a dozen model essays, you will find great improvement. For example, I used to say important.

It is very important and significant to talk about it now. It was popular in the past, popular now, valued before, valued now, and could not be ignored before. Now we can treat it lightly by saying that they don't care. You can use it flexibly when you know it by heart.

Secondly, the use of templates, a perfect template, used by the original author, full marks. Used by more than a dozen imitators, high score. N imitators use, zero. So as Mr. Zheng said, the best template is no template. However, if we want to reach the realm of no template trace, we still have to start with the memory summary template.

It is important to choose a template that suits your level. I use "where in the world ... is so much debated as in our society". However, more importantly, ... there is a small problem that we must consider. Be especially good at memorizing templates and make them a part of your language. After you fully understand and understand everything, you can master it.

For example, the templates of many small compositions can become excellent sentence patterns of big compositions with a little modification. You also need to modify the template appropriately to form your own uniqueness. If the ability is limited, you can also use the teacher's template. After all, the template given to us by the teacher is very timely.

Again, about the highlight setting.

The first is about the setting of signposts and related words. For example, it is generally acknowledged that ... however, it is not completed ... For example, a case in point is that .......................................................................................................................................... However, wait. Used to indicate a turning point.

The use of three excellent sentence patterns here refers to inverted sentences, stressed sentences and imaginary sentences. The first two have a wide range of applications, so you only need to choose two sentences from the written article to use inverted sentences and stressed sentences.

The use of clauses, attributive clauses will be used by everyone, and the clauses with rich colors should be subject clauses, predicative clauses and appositive clauses, so pay more attention when writing. Clause, the more the better.

About writing: the influence of this kind of writing on scores has been controversial. However, I think it is better to write, after all, there are only advantages and no disadvantages. And after reading a beautifully written article, the examiner must feel that it is a kind of enjoyment, and maybe there will be an impulse to give full marks.

I'm sure it will. At least it will be affected.

So I strongly suggest you practice. Lian Bi, mastering this tendency, will get immediate results. It is said that after I finished writing my composition, I took a look. There is no change in the full text, and the black handwriting sets off the red grid. At that time, I was completely moved by my beautiful writing in the examination room. (I can only be moved by my own writing, and the content is really ordinary)

Finally, let's talk about an example of a template. The template is not used well. The original template is not. For example, English writing can be divided into process investigation, classification, demonstration, cause and effect, comparison and contrast. It is best to have two templates for each type. For example, the original template for the combination of cause and result types.

first

The first sentence is, where is there such a controversial issue in the world as our society? Then there is a turning sentence. Some people insist that ... On the other hand, others think that ... As far as I am concerned, the three main reasons for something are ..., ... and. ....

The main reasons for this problem are ...

Another contributing factor to the three-stage formula is

Last but not least, ... is also the reason for this trend.

In conclusion, I once again acknowledge my position. ...

Another Cause Result Type Template

The first paragraph remains unchanged.

Two firsts and the most, this is universally recognized. ...

Three more important paragraphs, through .../No doubt, anyway, ...

How about four paragraphs? There is another subtitle point that we must consider.

From all the evidence provided/all relevant aspects, I am sure. .....

spoken language

The improvement of oral English begins with pronunciation, language partners, self-training and improvisation.

There has been a great controversy about pronunciation. Many people think that content is the most important thing. After all, pronunciation is just packaging, so it doesn't matter whether it is good or not. I quite agree with the importance of content, but the influence of pronunciation on oral English is similar to that of writing on composition. It must have worked. If a candidate has a mouthful of Chinese pronunciation, your ears will feel uncomfortable. If your opponent's exams are all pure American accents or British accents, your ears will tell your brain to listen more, listen more and enjoy more.

The most important thing is that the improvement of pronunciation is really a very fast process, which only takes one month. Since it's so simple, why don't we make our pronunciation better?

Regarding pronunciation training, the recommended textbook: Born to win.

I concentrated on improving my pronunciation during my freshman summer vacation. At that time, our school participated in the National Day military parade training, and we all stayed at school. Because we spent a lot of time on the playground during the day, we couldn't wait to spend the rest of the time in the library.

Choose an article, first find out the words you can't, and then take notes.

After reading it, imitate it. Read one sentence in MP3. Let's follow it. This process takes about ten times for an article.

Read after it directly. Just play MP3 directly, without stopping, and then practice coherence. This process will last about 7. 8 is everywhere.

Recording comparison. Read it yourself, record it, and then carefully find the differences from the original recording. Is it intonation, incorrect pronunciation of individual pronunciations, or too much stress? If you find any problems, you should write them down in your notebook, then correct them in the next recording, and continue to do so until the gap with the original text is narrowed. The so-called imitation is vivid.

At that time, about twenty articles were selected, and each article was practiced like this. In fact, when I reached the eighth and ninth articles, I felt that I had made great progress. After such serious practice, after the summer vacation, my English pronunciation can't be very authentic, but at least, it can be "very nice"

Now let's talk about the content.

If possible, I hope you can find a language partner. The British and Americans are the best candidates. I have a language partner. She is Chinese-American, grew up in America, and then studied Chinese in our university. In fact, after I finished the IELTS test, we met more frequently. When we are together, I usually speak English and she speaks Chinese. I felt uncomfortable at first, but I got used to it naturally. Some of my classmates speak Chinese half the time and English half the time when communicating with their language partners. Well, these two modes have their own advantages and disadvantages, and mine is more efficient in using time. The latter way may be more conducive to learning from each other.

There are two points to note. First of all, you two must get along well. In this way, when communicating, it is more like being with friends, enjoying it more and having more topics to talk about. I hit it off with that American girl, more like friends who play together, and besides making an appointment to meet, we sometimes study together or something. She graduated from philosophy and has a good knowledge of psychology, so the chat between us is very wide. Many times, we really forget that we chat from the perspective of improving our language.

In addition, your oral English level should be basically the same. It's her Chinese level and your English level. I once had an American English partner, a lovely American girl, but her Chinese is still in the primary stage, so we can only speak English when communicating, so for her, without exercise, it is impossible to achieve the effect of mutual improvement between language partners. Besides, you are talking. If one party's oral English level is poor, you spend too much time thinking when expressing it, which will reduce the efficiency of both of you.

The last one is to bring some equipment. Such as notebooks, electronic dictionaries and so on. When the expression is unclear, my English partner and I will quickly look up the electronic dictionary. Then write it down. Also write down the expression of the other party's correction. Sometimes we will take notes in class and then try to communicate with each other in their newly learned expressions. My notes happen to be intensive reading of the text, which is more formal, while her notes happen to be an extremely colloquial expression of China, such as "Ah, look where you were just now." "Only you can do it, others can't" and so on. So the conversation is very interesting. Almost every time we end a conversation, we both laugh.

Self-training

If you can't find a native English-speaking language partner, you can also practice by yourself. This is how I practice myself when I have no language partner.

First of all, imitation is possible. For example, if you watch more than 20 episodes of Friends, pick out your favorite episode and imitate it again and again. Some of my classmates just spent a month learning a movie) and know the extent to which you can vividly dub characters by turning off subtitles and sounds.

Second, talk to yourself. Talk to yourself. It sounds a little scary, but it's really effective. For example, you can describe what you have just done and what you will do. Or describe a thing and so on. If you don't feel used to talking to yourself, you can use the textbook of English debate.

Choose a topic, then spend a few minutes brainstorming, and then make a statement like an argument on the debate field. If you want to train your logical thinking ability, you can say yes and no, I have tried, it is a test, but the personality is easy to split. Therefore, everyone should use it carefully according to their own situation.

Finally, talk about improvisation.

The first is fluency. Some candidates pay great attention to the accuracy of expression, and there are almost no grammatical mistakes and improper use, but the price is that the speech speed is greatly reduced. In fact, fluency is what impressed the examiner the most, and there is no need to sacrifice fluency for accuracy. (Of course, there can't be too many mistakes)

Secondly, it is mentality. Try to think of the exam as a small talk with friends. Don't stick to form. The more relaxed you are, the better. Even if it is a deep problem, even if you don't understand the field at all, don't worry. After all, this is not a test of knowledge. Even if I don't know, I just use more authentic language to express my ignorance.

Besides, ray is good at all.

My examiner is an old woman with an English accent. It was particularly hot that afternoon, and the whole person was particularly boring. The first part is some simple and random questions. The examiner asked me, generally speaking, what do you like to do all year round? Then I wondered. I don't know how to answer it strangely. I decided to answer in the simplest way. Then I said, I am very introverted and like to be alone, so I usually stay in my dormitory all year round and watch American TV shows, which doesn't change with the seasons. "In fact, I am a very introverted person and like to be alone, so my activities will not change greatly with the change of seasons. As far as activities are concerned, generally speaking, I just stay in the dormitory and watch American movie series.

I looked at her expression and felt that my answer seemed a bit off topic. Then there is the topic card, which talks about family problems and the benefits of living with people of different generations to children's growth. The examiner asked me to start by describing a specific family you want to spend time with. I told a story about a family in a novel, which was a bit sad. I saw it a long time ago and I can't remember it clearly, but the title card part can't stop, and I can't remember it soon, but the examiner still didn't mean to ask the next question. I talked about the sad part and remembered the breakpoint part. Then, I said (painfully), "You know ... if I keep talking about this, I'm really hurt." I can't go on, my heart is breaking. ) The examiner said, "Oh, sweet, stop here. Let's move on. "

At the end of the final exam, I just smiled and said thank you for being such a good person.

Finally, talk about mentality. I think, compared with TOEFL, GRE and other exams. IELTS is more scientific and tests our true level. I'm basically under no pressure in this exam. Because I got 6.5, I succeeded. Plus the usual homework is very heavy, so I don't pay much attention to it. I have no time to read it. I just looked at the questions introduced by the oral English teacher and didn't write the template. I didn't do many questions after class, even a complete set of questions. The day before the exam, I thought I should do a set of questions, but I was very tired after studying by myself, so I gave up. After all, it is not the IELTS test for studying abroad. If you really want to study abroad, it is estimated that you will have to take the exam again in your senior year.

What's more, my test center happens to be in beijing language and culture university, and I feel quite cordial. Haha, I can be regarded as the host.

At that time, I thought about going to Tianjin to take the exam. Originally, I said that the spoken English there was higher than that in Beijing, but later I thought about it. Being admitted to my own school has relieved a lot of pressure. At that time, there was a mentality of fresh experience during the exam, which was more like self-study, so the mentality was more positive.

Although I don't have much preparation, it looks relaxed, but I have a good grasp of the class time in New Oriental. It can be said that I am very clear about the ins and outs of every topic I told my teacher, and I have detailed notes on my thoughts and things, so that I can really understand what the teacher said. In class the next day, I will spend about 20 minutes reviewing yesterday's notes, and I will spend an hour or two on the weekend looking for corresponding topics for training. The most important thing is to concentrate in class. Your own training must break through one by one according to the teacher's ideas and notes, and mechanical review will not improve.

Well, that's about it. Spoken English is a bit much. Hehe, maybe it's because I made a new friend recently.

The relationship between like-minded language partners. As a sophomore majoring in English, as a person who has studied English in college for two years, 8 points is really common. After all, I learn nothing but English. If you get 8.5 points, you may be qualified. Let's stop here. I hope it will help everyone. Moreover, I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Zheng. What you gain in writing class is far more than skill, but also a kind of ability and attitude.
