Lingnan Teachers College, referred to as Lingnan Teachers College, is located in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. It is a full-time undergraduate institution of higher learning, the construction unit authorized by Guangdong Province to add a master's degree, the first batch of pilot universities for the transformation of ordinary undergraduate courses in Guangdong Province, the universities jointly established by provinces and cities, the chairman unit of the Guangdong Special Education Teachers Development Alliance, and the first batch of social work professional training bases of the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

The history of Lingnan Teachers College can be traced back to Leiyang College, which was founded in 1636, and was transformed into Leizhou Middle School in 1902. Normal education began in 1904, and 1935 was renamed as Guangdong Leizhou Teachers College, and 1978 was officially transformed into Leizhou Teachers College.
