It takes about 8 years to build a virtual education system-"Online Hubei Education" that meets the needs of school education and lifelong learning of social members.

On June 5438+065438+ 10, 2000, the Hubei Provincial Department of Education decided to build the "Hubei Education Information Network" to build a unified physical network (Hubei Education Backbone Network and Campus Network) and a unified network public information platform (the province's education portal) for the informationization of schools at all levels in the province, and set up a leading group and its office for the establishment of the "Hubei Education Information Network".

2001July 10, Hubei Education Information Network (website e2 1), the only education portal in the province, was initially established and put into trial operation.

On February 28th, 2002, Hubei Education Informatization Development Center was formally established, which is a public institution directly under the Hubei Provincial Department of Education. Its main responsibility is to be responsible for the construction and operation of Hubei Education Information Network.
