Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formerly known as Fujian College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1958. It is one of the earlier institutions of higher learning of traditional Chinese medicine in China. In 2003, it became one of the eight key construction universities in Fujian Province, and was renamed Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the approval of the Ministry of Education on March 20 10. The school covers an area of nearly 1200 mu, of which Qishan campus covers an area of 935 mu and Pingshan campus covers an area of 16 1 mu.
