Fujian Electric Power Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational college approved by Fujian Provincial People's Government. Organized by State Grid Fujian Electric Power Co., Ltd., the education and teaching business is managed by the Provincial Department of Education. The college focuses on full-time higher education and production skills training for employees of provincial electric power companies, and at the same time carries out various forms of part-time academic education.

The predecessor of the college is Quanzhou Electric Power School, a key middle school directly under the Ministry of Water and Electricity, which was founded in April 1984. In 2003, it was upgraded to a college, offering full-time junior college education and various forms of non-academic education. This business is jointly managed by the provincial electric power company and the provincial education department.

As of April, 20021year, the college has 10 power-related majors such as power plant and power system, power supply and demand technology, construction and operation and maintenance of high-voltage transmission and distribution lines, and power system automation technology. The college has two campuses (Fengze Campus and Luojiang Campus) and two training bases (Qingyuan Base and Lefeng Base). In July 2022, official website showed that the school had three teaching units, namely, Power Engineering Department, Comprehensive Energy Engineering Department and Power Supply Engineering Department, and offered 10 major.
