The Education Department of Shandong Province is a department of Shandong Provincial People's Government, and the Education Working Committee of Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China is an agency of the provincial party committee, which is co-located with the Education Department of Shandong Province, and the Education Working Committee of Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China is the official department level.

Shandong Provincial Department of Education (Education Working Committee of the Provincial Party Committee) implements the Party's educational policies, implements the central government's decision-making arrangements on education, completes Party building and ideological work in the education system of the whole province in accordance with the requirements of the provincial party Committee and the provincial government, promotes the high-quality development of education, and adheres to and strengthens the Party's centralized and unified leadership over education in the process of performing its duties.

In May, 20021,the Education Department of Shandong Province (Education Committee of the Provincial Party Committee) moved from No.29 Wenhua West Road in Jinan City to No.60 Shungeng Road.

The main responsibilities of Shandong Provincial Department of Education:

1, implement the laws, regulations, principles and policies on education and the decision-making arrangements of the central and provincial committees on education, and be responsible for drafting relevant local regulations; To formulate policies, plans and organize the implementation of education reform and development in the whole province; Responsible for the statistics, analysis and release of basic education information.

2, responsible for coordinating the province's basic education (including preschool education), higher education, vocational education, adult education and minority education; To be in charge of the work of teachers in the whole province and guide the construction of teaching and administrative staff in schools; Guide the internal management system of the school and the reform of education and teaching; Organize educational supervision and evaluation.

3, overall planning of the layout of colleges and universities, responsible for coordinating the organization and implementation of the project of jointly building colleges and universities by the provinces and departments; To undertake the examination and approval of the establishment, cancellation, renaming and adjustment of various institutions of higher learning according to regulations.

4. To study and formulate the Party building plan of the education system in the whole province and guide its implementation. Responsible for the investigation and study of major issues concerning Party building in the education system of the whole province, put forward opinions and suggestions to the provincial party committee, and make decisions on relevant issues within the scope of functions and powers.

5, responsible for the party's theoretical propaganda and news propaganda work in colleges and universities in the province. Responsible for ideological and political work in colleges and universities in the province, grass-roots party building, maintaining stability and comprehensive management of social security. Assist the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee in the management of leading bodies in colleges and universities. Responsible for the United front and mass work in colleges and universities in the province.
