Brief introduction of Suzhou Vocational and Technical College
Suzhou Vocational and Technical College is located in Suzhou High-tech Industrial Zone. Its predecessor was Su Xian Agricultural School. Founded in February 1950, it was awarded as a national key middle school in 2000. In June, 20001,it was upgraded to a higher vocational college independently, and merged into Suzhou Institute of Education in July, 2007. At present, it is a school featuring agriculture and focusing on engineering. 1 There are 300 in-service teachers in the college, including 2 15 teachers. Among the teachers, there are professor 10, associate professor 86, doctor 10, master 120, 9 provincial professional leaders and 5 provincial famous teachers. Teaching, experiment, reading, living, sports, entertainment and other supporting facilities are relatively complete. Especially since the implementation of greening, beautification, purification and lighting projects in recent years, the campus has become an ideal hall for students to study and further their studies. 1 The college covers an area of 800 mu, with 630,000 books and materials and a school building of 230,000 square meters. There are 9 teaching institutions, including mechanical and electrical department, computer information department, economic management department, humanities and social sciences department, foreign languages department, agronomy department, animal department, basic education department and technical secondary school department, 1 doctor workstation and 1 adult higher education correspondence station. It offers 42 majors, including construction engineering technology, landscape architecture technology, computerized accounting, mechatronics technology, automotive plastics technology and film and television multimedia technology, with more than 7,000 students of all kinds.
