Haikou University of Economics, located in Haikou City, Hainan Province, referred to as "Haijing" for short, is a multi-disciplinary full-time undergraduate college with economics and management as its major and arts, science, engineering and art coexisting. It is the first private undergraduate college in Hainan Province.

Founded in 1974, the school has gone through the development stages of Haikou Vocational College and Haikou Economic Vocational and Technical College. In 2004, it was recognized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Construction as a national pilot institution for training architectural skilled talents. In March 2008, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education. On May 20 12, it passed the evaluation of the right to award bachelor's degrees and became a bachelor's degree awarding unit.

In June, 20021year, after research and approval by the Ministry of Education, the Education Department of Hainan Province determined Haikou University of Economics as the first batch of provincial demonstration and application-oriented undergraduate colleges.

Internship employment

The school implements school-enterprise cooperation and expands order-based training. It has successively suggested cooperation with nearly 100 enterprises and institutions such as Hainan Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, Sheraton Sanya Resort Hotel, Sofitel Boao Hotel, Haikou Port, Hainan TV Station and Haikou TV Station, which has built a broad platform for college students' internship and employment.

The initial employment rate of school graduates in 2003-20 12 announced by Hainan Provincial Department of Personnel, Labor and Social Security has been above 90% for ten consecutive years, ranking among the best in Hainan Province.
