The Education Bureau is the government department in charge of education and language work.

Education management includes: being responsible for national basic education (including preschool education), special education, vocational and technical education, off-campus education, adult education and higher education (including running schools by social forces); Responsible for the management of national academic education and examination work, and jointly with relevant departments to study and formulate enrollment plans for schools of all levels and types throughout the country; Responsible for continuing education, adult self-study exams, and eliminating illiteracy among young people.

The management of language and writing work includes: undertaking the specific work of the State Language Committee and formulating the principles and policies of national language and writing work; Compiling medium-and long-term plans for language and writing work; Formulate norms and standards for Chinese and minority languages, and organize, coordinate, supervise and inspect them; Guide the promotion of Putonghua, etc.

The main responsibilities of some internal organs of the Education Bureau:

1. Office: responsible for organizing Party committees, executive meetings, director's office meetings and important bureau-level meetings, and supervising the matters agreed at the meetings; Responsible for the supervision of important matters assigned by superior departments and bureau leaders; Responsible for secretarial, confidential, archives, letters and visits, confidentiality, security, information and logistics management; Responsible for overall management, external publicity, and open government affairs.

Second, the personnel department: responsible for the qualification of teachers; To be responsible for the appointment, removal and filing of departmental level cadres of bureaus and directly affiliated units; Responsible for the adjustment and management of the establishment of ethnic primary and secondary schools; Responsible for the employment guidance of graduates from normal universities; Responsible for the management of teachers' award foundation; Responsible for the knowledge work and expert management of the education system.

Finance department: formulate relevant policies and regulations on the management and financing of education funds in conjunction with relevant departments; To manage and supervise the use of various special funds allocated by the state, the province and the state, as well as education loans, education fund-raising, donations, teacher incentive funds and other projects; Manage the use of special funds issued by the state finance department; Overall management of education fees, etc.
