Inner Mongolia Normal University, located in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is the first comprehensive normal university established in frontier minority areas after the founding of New China. It has been selected into key universities in the autonomous region, basic capacity building projects in universities in the central and western regions, and excellent teacher training projects. It is also an important base for the autonomous region to train teachers of basic education and ethnic education and to train compound talents of Mongolian and Han minorities.
It is a training base for all kinds of sports professionals in the autonomous region, Mongolian sports talents in eight provinces, ethnic music talents in northern China, and artistic design education talents in the autonomous region, and is praised as the "cradle of ethnic education" by the society. The school, formerly known as Inner Mongolia Teachers College, was established in Ulanhot, the then capital, 1952.
1In August, 953, Inner Mongolia Teachers College was formed by the merger of Zhangjiakou Teachers College and Suiyuan Teachers College. 1982, the school was renamed "Inner Mongolia Normal University" and was identified as a key university in the autonomous region.
In July 2000, Inner Mongolia Institute of Education merged. As of March, 20 18, the school has two campuses, Lesheng Campus and Sai Han Campus, with a total area of more than 3,800 mu, a school building area of more than 900,000 square meters, and total fixed assets of nearly 2.4 billion yuan, of which the total value of teaching equipment is more than 460 million yuan, and there are more than 2.4 million books.
There are 3 1 teaching institutions, 5 cooperative colleges, 1 independent colleges, 4 affiliated schools and 92 undergraduate majors. There are 2 178 faculty members and 3 1 956 full-time undergraduates, including 6,536 undergraduates who teach Mongolian, 4,263 postgraduates, adult students 1 person and 577 international students.
