Nanjing University of Technology Mental Health Education Guidance Center was formally established in May 20001,which is a specialized institution of South China University of Technology to implement mental health education for all students.
It undertakes the tasks of popularizing mental health knowledge, organizing mental health education activities, conducting psychological consultation and treatment, investigating the mental health status of college students, studying the characteristics and development laws of college students' mental health and mental health education, and guiding the work of college students' psychological associations. Effective mental health education for college students can improve their psychological quality, tap their intellectual potential, cultivate healthy personality, improve their adaptability, prevent and eliminate psychological barriers and promote their healthy growth.
With the aim of guiding and helping all students to improve their psychological quality, the center advocates the concept of "caring for the soul and paying attention to health" and adopts the educational strategy of combining face with point, which not only pays attention to the psychological education of all students (offering a series of courses, lectures, salons and group training); Pay attention to individual students' psychological consultation (professional psychological test, interview, telephone consultation, online consultation), solve students' problems in learning, making friends, emotion, choosing a job, help students improve their personality, improve their psychological quality, and enhance their ability to adapt to the environment, bear setbacks and develop themselves; Gradually build a mental health education network and system that combines in-class and out-of-class education, education and guidance, consultation and self-help, and cooperates with schools to promote students' all-round and harmonious development.
The center is affiliated to the Student Affairs Department of South University of Technology, and adopts a working system combining full-time and part-time work, giving full play to the positive role of experts, professors, moral educators and doctors in psychological education, especially outstanding student volunteers and student associations, and carrying out education, research and consultation in an all-round way.
