There is a record in the Records of Emperor Gaozong in the Qing Dynasty. This story tells that Kangxi once went hunting with Li Hong and ordered the guards to shoot the wild bear. The bear fell to the ground for a long time. Kangxi asked Li Hong to make up an arrow for the bear, which made Li Hong gain the reputation of being brave and fearless in hunting bears for the first time. However, Li Hong, who has always been quick, was slow after getting on the horse. Kangxi was angry and asked Li Hong why he didn't come forward. Li Hong came to his senses and wanted to ride a horse. Unexpectedly, the wild bear suddenly stood up and rushed to Li Hong's mount. At this time, Kangxi stabbed the wild bear with a pike. After the hunting, Kangxi returned to the tent and told Wen Huifei that this child's life is precious and will be luckier than mine in the future.
There is such a passage in Volume I of Records of the Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty: "The Holy Father loves God deeply, and the past is silent; Sejong hangs in the valley, and Zhou notes behind. " It is said that Kangxi was very optimistic about Li Hong and decided Li Hong's succession from then on. But in ancient times, there was no saying that the emperor passed on his grandson, so the throne could only be passed on to Yongzheng first, and then from Yongzheng to Qianlong.
Kangxi once educated Qianlong when he was a child. Kangxi's kindness and tolerance deeply attracted Qianlong and made Qianlong respect his grandfather very much. Kangxi reigned for sixty-one years, so Qianlong swore that if he was lucky enough to reign for sixty years, he would immediately abdicate and dare not compete.
