According to the provisions of the Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), all children who have reached the age of six (born before August 3, 2005/KLOC-0), regardless of gender, nationality or region, should be sent to school by their parents or legal guardians according to law. Schools that do not have the conditions can appropriately postpone the admission age, but they should not exceed seven years old. All primary schools should seriously investigate the situation of school-age children within their jurisdiction and determine the age of admission according to the enrollment scale of primary schools. No school is allowed to change the admission age without authorization. All schools that recruit students over the school age stipulated by the state must submit a written application to the District Education Bureau, and only after the study is approved can they enroll students at a certain age. At the same time, all relevant primary schools should explain the delay in admission age to the society and parents of students by posting enrollment announcements.
