The difficulties in publishing educational periodicals are as follows:
First, the cycle is too long. According to statistics, as of 2 1 in September 2020, there were only a handful of general periodicals that could be published in that year, basically within the range of 10 to 20, especially the basic number of HowNet is only 10, and it is still receiving this year's issue. However, it is difficult to review and publish some general publications of HowNet Education that can be published this year.
Second, after 20 years of reform, many HowNet journals have been reorganized. As a result, educational journals generally require that the number of pages must be reduced from the second edition, which leads to the following changes in the journals of Education Knowledge Network.
1. The publishing cycle was extended. As I said just now, HowNet publications have basically not been published in the past 20 years.
The length of this article has increased. At present, generally speaking, if it is less than 3,000 words, it should be that you don't want to publish HowNet education journals (other publications are similar, so if there is a version of HowNet journals, please publish it carefully unless the other party's pages are less than 100 pages).
The cost of periodicals has increased. Because of the reduction of the number of pages, the unit price of many hownet educational periodicals has increased, usually around 100-300. However, due to the adjustment of many publications to the second edition, the change of the first edition fee often presents a double change of 200-600, and the total publishing cost has increased a lot.
4. Journals are more strict with the authors of articles. One of the key points of the reform of HowNet in the past 20 years is that journals are not allowed to receive manuscripts across directions and fields. Therefore, many journals of HowNet in recent 20 years will divide the direction of receiving manuscripts in detail. For example, Exam Weekly only accepts articles on basic education, while university education only accepts articles from technical schools in vocational colleges, and journals such as College Entrance Examination and Teaching and Educating People will also accept articles from technical schools 20 years later. Only accepting basic education requires that the author is not a university, that is to say, only basic education units, that is, primary and secondary school teachers are allowed to publish, even if graduate students write articles on basic education, journals will not accept them.
National periodicals are extremely rare and difficult to publish. Although there is no standard for the classification of national and provincial periodicals in the periodical industry, we generally believe that a periodical is a national periodical as long as one of the competent organizers is a national unit, otherwise it is a provincial periodical. Of course, provincial and national general periodicals belong to the ranks of general periodicals, and there is no competitive relationship between them. Even in many cases, the quality grade of provincial periodicals is better than that of national periodicals. However, because national periodicals sound very high, many teachers and students still come up with national periodicals. This leads to the scarcity of regular national paper periodicals, which are either difficult to distribute or expensive, such as Teacher Huaxia, or the name sounds very general, such as China Youth (now closed, September 2, 20201). The huge contradiction between supply and demand has exploited loopholes for other periodicals that are not strictly national or even problematic.
