The school headquarters is located in Xueyuan Road, Haidian District, Beijing, where there are many colleges and universities. The school covers an area of about 803,900 square meters with a total construction area of 94 1 1 10,000 square meters.

The school has 1 national science center, 1 "20 1 plan" collaborative innovation center, 2 national key laboratories, 2 national engineering (technology) research centers, 2 national science and technology basic platforms, and1national science and technology resource sharing service platform.

Especially in 2007, as the first university directly under the Ministry of Education, the school took the lead in undertaking the research and evaluation facilities for the service safety of major engineering materials, a major national science and technology infrastructure project, and was responsible for the preparation of the National Science Center for the Service Safety of Materials. The library has a physical collection of more than 2.479 million volumes (pieces).
