The Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) is a law formulated in accordance with the Constitution and the Education Law in order to guarantee the right of school-age children and adolescents to receive compulsory education, ensure the implementation of compulsory education and improve the quality of the whole nation.
The Education Law of the People's Republic of China aims at developing education, improving the quality of the whole nation and promoting the construction of socialist material civilization and spiritual civilization. It is the fundamental law of China's educational work and the fundamental law of governing education according to law.

Revised at the 22nd meeting of the Standing Committee of the 10th NPC on June 29th, 2006.
According to the 14th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th NPC on April 24, 20 15, the decision on amending the Compulsory Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) and other five laws was revised for the first time.
According to the decision of the 7th meeting of the 13th NPC Standing Committee on February 29th, 20 18 on amending five laws, such as the Product Quality Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), the second amendment was made.
