The old campus of Suqian College covers an area of 1.458 mu, and the new campus covers an area of nearly twice that of the old campus, about 2600 mu. The new campus has a total construction area of about 900,000 ㎡, the first phase project area is about 604,600 ㎡, and the second phase project area is about 295,400 ㎡.
The main construction contents include: teaching building, training center, experimental teaching building, library, department building, administrative office building, auditorium, teacher-student activity center, student dormitory, teacher apartment, canteen, logistics room, gymnasium, training ground and so on. Suqian College is a full-time public institution of higher learning officially approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government in June 2002. It is a multidisciplinary university integrating literature, science, engineering, agriculture, teaching, economics, law and management.
Suqian College is the product of the reform of higher education system in Jiangsu Province. The new school-running system and mode of "co-construction of provinces and cities and co-construction of eight schools" are adopted, and the college implements the dean responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors.
