Malipo Martyrs Cemetery was founded in 1979. 1984, it has been expanded, maintained and reformed. Now, the whole cemetery covers an area of more than 50 mu, with its back to Qingshan and facing the motherland. The mountains are magnificent and the buildings are magnificent. There is a pavilion at the entrance of the cemetery, which reads "Malipo Martyrs Cemetery" in seven Chinese characters. A total of 960 martyrs from 19 provinces and cities and 19 nationalities were buried in the cemetery. They were all loyal martyrs who fought bravely and gave their precious lives.
The cemetery is listed as a key martyrs cemetery in Yunnan Province, a national key martyrs memorial building protection unit, a national defense education base, a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national patriotic education demonstration base. Every time I go to Tomb-Sweeping Day, the PLA, workers, farmers, families of martyrs, government officials and students from all over the country come to mourn the martyrs and heroes, leaving many heartfelt and tearful eulogies, oaths and poems.
The Construction Background of Malipo Martyrs Cemetery
In the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam in Laoshan, Balihe Dongshan and Koulinshan areas, all the officers and men of the participating troops resolutely carried out the operational orders of the Central Military Commission, carried forward the "Five Revolutionary Spirits" advocated by the Chairman of the Central Military Commission, cooperated closely, fought bravely and severely punished the Vietnamese aggressors, winning glory for the country, the people and the army.
In the battle, the martyrs who died gloriously turned their love for the party and the people into a spiritual force that shared the same enemy in the battle. When the party and the people needed it, they abandoned everything about their families and individuals, stepped forward without hesitation, selflessly dedicated their young lives to the motherland and the people, and spilled their blood on the land in the frontier of the motherland. There are martyrs who died in the 1979 self-defense counterattack against Vietnam, as well as militia and migrant workers who died in defending the frontier and performing other tasks.
