Some views on practical education in colleges and universities
The Ministry of Education recently issued "Several Opinions on Further Strengthening Practical Teaching in Colleges and Universities", which clearly stated that practical teaching in colleges and universities should be strengthened, and stipulated the minimum proportion of practical credits in different types of colleges and universities, among which the proportion of practical teaching in higher vocational colleges should be no less than 50.

Increase the proportion of practical teaching

Colleges and universities should combine professional characteristics and personnel training requirements, increase the proportion of practical teaching, and ensure that the undergraduate majors in humanities and social sciences are not less than 15% of the total credits (hours), the undergraduate majors in science, engineering, agriculture and medicine are not less than 25%, the majors in higher vocational colleges are not less than 50%, the educational practice of normal students is not less than one semester, and the graduate students with professional degrees are not less than half a year.

Practice time requirement

Every undergraduate should take part in social practice activities for not less than 4 weeks, and graduate students and vocational college students should take part in social investigation at least once and write investigation reports during their study.
