Mr. Tao Xingzhi's creative education thought can be summarized as: understanding first, using both hands and brains, experimental education and liberating children. The concept of creative education runs through three aspects of Tao Xingzhi's educational thought: "life is education", "society is school" and "teaching integration".
First, "experimental education" to create educational ideas

Therefore, Mr. Wang further put forward in "Experimental Education for Implementing Experiments": "All normal schools and research and education institutions should attach importance to experimental affiliated schools; Local schools should also be selected as experimental centers according to special circumstances. "This should be the reason for all kinds of experimental middle schools, experimental primary schools and experimental schools at all levels.
In 2020, a painter asked me four questions: "First, what is an experimental school? Second, why not an experimental school? Third, there are so many experimental schools. Experiment refers to having a complete methodology, but lacking experience in field use, but the experimental results are difficult to control. It seems that the experiment is the practice of the existing theory and experience, and the experiment is an attempt. The second question is answered. The third question is about what the experimental school has experimented with. You can hardly find the answer. The fourth question is worth pondering. What successful experiences and practices have been popularized in the leading experimental schools in the county, the whole city and the whole province? Sadly, so many research projects have not been promoted and better applied. Mr. Tao Xingzhi's initial intention of establishing an "experimental" school failed.
Second, create the educational thought of "knowledge first"
During his college years, Mr. Tao Xingzhi praised the theory of "Unity of Knowing and Doing" put forward by Wang Yangming, a philosopher in Ming Dynasty, and named it "Unity of Knowing and Doing". Although Wang Yangming's theory contains subjective idealism, Mr. Tao Xingzhi realized the truth of learning from the times and encouraged himself all his life.
Through educational practice, Mr. Wang believes that the psychology of "think twice before acting" and "knowing is the beginning of acting, and acting is the success of knowing" is the fundamental reason for the lack of creativity in education in old China. Teacher Wang believes that in order to make students creative, we must subvert the traditional relationship between knowing and doing, so Teacher Wang made a 180-degree flip and clearly put forward that "doing is the beginning of knowing, and knowing is the achievement of doing." From 1927 to 1930, Mr. Wang has published articles such as Action is the Beginning of Knowledge, Integration of Teaching and Learning, Psychology, and Life is Education, which is the practical stage of his creative education.
Mr. Tao Xingzhi founded Xiaozhuang School on 1927; In March, Xiaozhuang School, a rural normal school, was established in Xiaozhuang, a northern suburb of Nanjing, and Yanziji Kindergarten, the first rural kindergarten, was established. 1932 Life Education Society and Shanhai Engineering Group were established. The establishment of these schools is a model for implementing the concept of creative education.
Third, create the educational thought of "combining hands and brains"
1934 published an article "Xing Zhi Xing" in Life Education, arguing that "Xing Zhi is the beginning of knowing, and knowing is the success of doing" and renamed it Tao Xingzhi. Creative Education is an article published by Mr. Tao Xingzhi in 1933, which marks the formation of his creative education thought. This paper introduces what creative education is, its purpose, object, scope, content and methods. Until Mr. Wang's death, Mr. Wang published articles such as the Declaration of Creation, Creating Children's Education, and Creating Social Education Outline, which raised the idea of creative education to a new height.
Mr. Tao Xingzhi said: "The significance of creative education lies in that ideas are generated by actions and new values are generated by ideas." Mr. Wang believes that working with hands and brains is the beginning of creative education; Both hands and brain are the purpose of creative education. ""Our education should not only teach, but also learn and do. Teaching without learning, learning without doing, is called' forgetting three' "There are a lot of papers and topics now, but they are all ideological transformations. They have not experienced the transformation from action to thought, so most of them are shallow research and cannot stand scrutiny. The failure to popularize scientific research achievements is an example. As for the new value generated by creativity, it is rare. It is necessary to do educational research with actions, popularize mature research results, turn educational actions and educational ideas into productive forces, and benefit more people.
