The country is indeed vigorously promoting vocational education, but the prospects in recent years are not very good. The key reason is not the school, but the society and the national employment mechanism. As we all know, most of the students trained by vocational and technical schools go directly to the society and enter jobs, mainly in many professional and technical positions, with relatively low requirements. However, looking at all kinds of recruitment now, positions with a little technical content require "university degree or above", and the requirements of many positions are actually not high, so employers who can use them must require "university diploma". In some units, the treatment is not linked to the position or performance at all, but continues to use the completely outdated "seniority", and those with high academic qualifications will get higher treatment. Even among people with university degrees, the treatment of full-time graduates is higher than that of part-time graduates, and the treatment of graduates from "21/engineering" colleges is higher than that of graduates from other colleges ..... In addition, many positions in society are emphasizing "employment certificate" and "qualification certificate", but these are professional and technical examinations, but many positions require "bachelor degree or above". For many vocational school students who have reached the required professional and technical level and others who do not have a university degree, they are not even qualified to take the exam.
So the reason why the development of vocational education is blocked is not education itself, but employment. Due to the above-mentioned academic discrimination in employment, it is difficult for vocational education to have a bright future. Although the country is vigorously promoting, and the investment in vocational education is also increasing, the spring of vocational education will not really come if the employment mechanism and assessment mechanism of the country are not fundamentally reformed and the discrimination against academic qualifications cannot be broken.
