In The Secrets of Children, Dr. Montessori believes that every child has an innate spiritual strength, which can be confirmed by the child's potential ability or spontaneous activities. Children can develop their spirit through the feelings and "impressions" they receive in the surrounding environment, which also forms their personality.

The Necessity of Sensory Education

Dr. Montessori advocated sensory education for children and expounded the necessity of sensory education for children. The development of advanced spiritual (intelligent) activities must be based on the development of feeling.

Sensory sensitive period

3~6 years old is a period of children's rapid physical development, and it is also a sensitive period of children's sensory development. In this period, children must receive proper sensory training to promote their spiritual development, which is Dr. Montessori's sensory education.

This stage is the most sensitive stage for children to stimulate, with strong sensory characteristics. For example, children in this period are particularly interested in size, color, shape, weight and sound.
