This new learning paradigm aims to provide a meaningful learning experience for makers through the process model of independent topic selection, investigation and research, creative conception, knowledge construction, design optimization, prototyping, test iteration and evaluation sharing.
From this perspective, maker learning is conducive to solving the dilemma of "engineering" and "innovation" in China's current engineering education, and then provides a reform path for the cultivation of national innovative talents.
Taking the creative experience of maker in Tiangong Maker Space as a practical case, we can find that the meaningful learning experience of maker creation needs to meet the basic conditions such as clear goals, independent construction, active practice, real situation, communication and cooperation, and mobile experience. We can provide platform environment and intellectual support for makers, optimize the meaningful learning experience of makers, and provide useful reference for education reform by implementing the independent research and development plan of college students, establishing the space alliance of college students and the mentor alliance of college students.
"Maker learning" refers to learning based on Maker project, which means that students fully learn, select and utilize the learning resources in Maker space around Maker project from the real situation, and continue to be independent and absorbed in the process of actual experience, exploration and innovation and internalization based on the whole life cycle of Maker project, including independent topic selection, investigation and research, creative conception, knowledge construction, design optimization, prototyping, test iteration and evaluation sharing.
Maker space in Maker learning refers to an open learning space based on Maker project for students to innovate, practice, share, cooperate and communicate, and it is a workspace, cyberspace, social space, cultural blending space and resource sharing space for the implementation of Maker project. "Maker project" refers to the creative activity project carried out by students to create new and unique products with social significance or personal value. Maker's quality includes four characteristics: knowledge structure, ability characteristics, thinking mode and personality characteristics.
