Medical treatment:
According to "Epidemic History of Epidemic Diseases in China", there have been more than 300 epidemics in China in the two thousand years since the Western Han Dynasty. Due to the effective prevention and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, the spread of the epidemic has been controlled and well treated. In the history of China, there has never been a tragedy in which tens of millions of people died of plague, such as Spanish flu, European Black Death and global plague.
After the founding of New China, Chinese medicine has played a very good role in the treatment of several major epidemic situations, such as Japanese encephalitis in 1956, SARS in 2003, and avian influenza in 2009, and has demonstrated the advantages of Chinese medicine in syndrome differentiation and treatment and adaptation to the three major factors.
In Shijiazhuang 1954 and 1955, the teacher Pu Fuzhou of the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (the predecessor of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine) used the methods of clearing away heat and toxic materials such as Baihu Decoction and Qingwen Baidu Drink, and achieved very good results.
During the period of 1956, according to the characteristics of hot and humid summer in Beijing that year, Pulao made timely adjustments and adopted Sanren Decoction, Shisan Decoction, Wujiajian Zhengqi Powder and Qianjin Weijing Decoction to eliminate dampness and clear heat, which also achieved good results.
In 2003, Guangzhou SARS, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, under the guidance of Mr. Deng Tietao, treated 74 cases of SARS virus infection, of which only 3 cases used hormones, and the sequelae of SARS were zero. In 2009, Chinese medicine also played a very good role in the prevention and treatment of avian influenza, and the results of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine were published in the international medical journal Yearbook of Internal Medicine.
In the COVID-19 epidemic, Chinese medicine also played a more important and extensive role in the rescue work. Strengthening the combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine, deeply involving Chinese medicine in the diagnosis and treatment process, has become a distinctive feature of medical treatment, and the value of Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 in all parts of the country has been greatly affirmed.
