Founder of Shanghai Painting Academy
Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, referred to as "Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts", was founded by Liu Haisu and his friends.

Liu Haisu, Han nationality, whose real name is Ji Fang, whose real name is Hai Weng, is from Wujin, Jiangsu, and NLD. China was a modern painter, oil painter, calligrapher, art educator, art historian and social activist. His main works include True Interpretation of Painting, Six Principles of China's Painting, Essays on European Travel, Shi Tao, Post-Impressionism, etc.

The initial establishment of the school

1912165438+123 October, 17 Liu Haisu and his friends founded the first modern art school in China-Shanghai Academy of Painting and Fine Arts (later renamed Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, referred to as Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts). The value of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts lies in that it is one of the first new fine arts institutes in China to introduce western fine arts teaching system.

Although it was a private school, it persisted in running the school for 40 years until 1952, when the national colleges and universities were adjusted, Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts merged with Suzhou Academy of Fine Arts and Shandong University Art Department to form East China Art Institute (the school was located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, with Liu Haisu as the principal, then moved to Nanjing, renamed Nanjing Art Institute, and Liu Haisu as the dean).
