Zi Gong asked, "Why is Kong Wenzi called Wen?" Confucius said, "He is diligent and eager to learn, and he is not ashamed to ask for advice from people who are not as good as himself, so he is called Wen."
As can be seen from the above, Confucius answered the questions raised by Zi Gong from three aspects, namely: first, "sensitivity"; Second, "studious"; Third, "Don't be shy about asking questions."
Confucius' original intention was to let Zigong know that only by being diligent and eager to learn, can we cultivate the literary morality we should have.
