There are two first-class disciplines, archaeology and art theory, and two doctoral programs in art design. At present, there are four departments: art history department, archaeological culture department, design art department and fine arts department, as well as five research institutes: art history institute, cultural heritage and museum institute, China art institute, archaeology institute and contemporary art design institute. The goal of the college is to strive to become a top art and archaeology college with China characteristics, China and the world. Zhejiang University, referred to as "Zhejiang University" for short, is a comprehensive national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It ranks among the national "double first-class", "2 1 1 project" and "985 project", directly under the central government, with a deputy ministerial level. It is an institution for students studying in China that receives scholarships from the China government.
