Is the cost of living in Beijing high? A passer-by warned Bei Piao: These seven facts have finally been completely explained.
Someone asked: I am going to Beijing to look for a job. Where is the high consumption in Beijing? Can you get along as a North drift? It has been 12 years since I transferred to Beijing from a third-tier city. At that time, I also felt that Beijing's housing prices were so expensive that I didn't know if it could take root. After years of struggle, to sum up, everything will come naturally, and many seemingly unsolvable problems can be solved slowly as long as you work hard. Therefore, the consumption problems in Beijing are mainly concentrated in five aspects: food, clothing, housing and transportation+learning (education). No matter whether you have money or not, no one can bypass these five main needs. Advice to newcomers in the workplace who are about to drift north, understand the following 7 facts, and you will understand in your heart.

Live. The high cost of buying a house and renting a house is daunting.

Everyone knows about buying a house, so I won't write it in detail. When I came to Beijing that year, my annual salary was 200,000, and the house price near the company was 20,000. After 12, the annual salary doubled and the house price quintupled. If compared with income, the house price is really a mountain, which makes others breathless. So, don't worry, stand on tiptoe first, buy a small house, and slowly replace the big house to ensure that the quality of life will not be reduced to a mess because of the house.

Renting a house is a "heartache" that every North drift can't avoid. I once rented a 50-square-meter tube-shaped building for my children to attend a prestigious school, with a monthly rent of 5,000 yuan. Now it is estimated that it will take 7000 turns. Many young people share the rent and struggle between high and low and far and near. If you live in the Fifth Ring Road, you have to bear huge rent. If you live outside the Fifth Ring Road, you have to endure a painful commute.

Within the Fifth Ring Road, most people are reluctant to rent a one-bedroom apartment. A slightly better one-bedroom apartment costs more than 5,000 yuan and a single apartment costs more than 7,000 yuan. This price increases as the number of rings decreases. For example, a one-bedroom apartment on the Fifth Ring Road is 5,000 yuan, the Fourth Ring Road is 6,000 yuan, the Third Ring Road is 7,000 yuan, and the bustling areas such as the International Trade Center are 8,000 yuan. Those who dare to rent in this way are basically high-paying white-collar workers.

Most ordinary migrant workers just share an apartment. The master bedroom with balcony and bathroom is 3500 yuan, the second bedroom is 3000 yuan, and the small room (that is, a bed and a table) is 2500 yuan. It also increases with the decrease of the number of rings.

Living expenses are the most rigid. Other things can be saved. You want to save this fee, but the landlord won't allow it.

A relatively happy group of people are civil servants, high-quality institutions, central enterprises and state-owned enterprises, which basically provide dormitories or shared houses. Those who do not provide dormitories will also be given generous rental subsidies. I have seen the highest rental subsidy, and the middle-level cadres make up 6000 yuan a month, which can let you rent a good two-bedroom apartment. If the rent is similar, the difference will fall into your pocket.

Second, eating is a rigid expenditure. If you want to save, your stomach won't allow it.

Food is a relatively differentiated rigid expenditure. There are many high-consumption buildings and halls in Beijing, but after the eight regulations, they have converged a lot. The news of sky-high meals is not uncommon, and it is not uncommon to eat millions. If you go to a certain world (which has been destroyed) to digest food, it is normal to spend hundreds of thousands a night. Therefore, we don't write those extravagant winds.

Let's start with the problem of eating for ordinary people. What I said is true. Eating in Beijing is really not expensive. There are two frames of reference: one is the comparison between food and income, and the other is the comparison between food and other cities. These two indicators are not high, even cheaper than some small cities.

The first indicator, the comparison between eating and income, may be controlled at 10% of income in Beijing. For example, if your monthly salary is 10000, eating at 1000 is also good. If you are in a small city, the proportion will not drop to 10%, with a monthly salary of 3,000 yuan and no less than 20% for meals. In this sense, it is cheaper to eat in Beijing.

The second indicator is the price of eating.

There are three levels:

First floor: boutique supermarket. For example, a boutique supermarket in the underground of Huamao, a boutique supermarket under a high-end real estate. Organic vegetables are more than twice as expensive as ordinary supermarkets. The key is that there are all kinds of expensive foods in the boutique supermarket, such as several thousand yuan for a fungus, a kilo for imported cherries from 300 yuan, and several hundred yuan for exotic fruits.

Second floor: ordinary supermarket. For example, some cheap supermarkets such as supermarket, supermarket, supermarket and supermarket are the most grounded and intimate, and some vegetables are cheaper than big markets. An experienced aunt can save half the money by waiting for a discount. To tell the truth, the food in the supermarket is cheaper than that in a small city.

Third floor: vegetable market and food stalls. The characteristic of Beijing is the coexistence of shops of various grades. For example, within 0/00 meter of my home in Fiona Fang, there is a set of combination boxing. There are boutique supermarkets, supermarkets, vegetable markets and food stalls everywhere. They coexist in harmony and each has his place. Vegetables and fruits in vegetable markets and food stalls are indeed cheaper than those in small cities, and the quality is not bad. Probably proud of high consumption and low wholesale price.

Anyway, my family goes to level 3, and my wife is an expert. She knows what to buy and where to go, and the allocation of resources is very accurate. For example, if I want to buy that kind of big clam, I will go to a boutique supermarket, which is twice as expensive, but the quality is really good. Buy daily food such as milk and bread and go to a club. Buy seasonal vegetables and fruits to go to the vegetable market. These three levels switch back and forth.

If young people cook by themselves, 30 yuan a day can solve the problem of food and clothing and nutrition, and 50 yuan a day can guarantee the quality. If you can buy and do it.

If young people don't fire, the starting price of three meals a day is 60 yuan, breakfast 8 yuan, Chinese food 200,000, dinner 200,000, fruit and milk drinks 12 yuan, at least 60 yuan. If we save again, the quality of life will be reduced.

The most comfortable group of people are still within the system. Civil servants, high-quality business editors, central enterprises and state-owned enterprises basically have canteens, which are either free or only nominal fees. Units that collect a little symbolically often have food subsidies, and all they save is their own money. The food in some units is not very good, which is equivalent to a buffet of 50 yuan. It is clean, hygienic, nutritious and convenient.

Three lines. The main reason is that the time cost is too expensive, and everyone treats it equally.

Not long ago, my classmates came to see me and I invited them to Sanlitun. I dare not drive, some foreign students don't understand. I wanted to take a taxi, but later I decided not to, and my classmates from other places didn't understand. They think I am stingy, because the poor family has money, and a classmate said I took a taxi. I can only let them take a taxi. As a result, it took us three hours to get to 98 yuan by taxi in the evening rush hour. When I came back, my classmates understood me very well and followed me to take the subway.

Commuting expenses in Beijing used to be the lowest in China. The bus costs 40 cents, and the subway costs 2 yuan to travel all over Beijing. The price has gone up now, but it is not expensive on the whole. Therefore, young people travel entirely by bus, and a dozen yuan a day is enough, and about 400 yuan can be covered in a month.

I have a car, but I hardly drive to work, mainly for weekend outings. The reason is that the time cost and parking cost are too high. Suppose I drive to work. First of all, traffic jams take time. Second, it takes time to find a parking space. Third, I parked on the side of the road for a long time. I have a good relationship with the toll collector, and I go to 30 yuan every day. If calculated by the hour, even if it is one hour 10 yuan, one day will be 80 yuan.

If you go to busy areas to play, such as driving to Sanlitun, Houhai, Wangfujing, Xidan and other business districts, it is difficult to find parking spaces. Find a parking space, 30 yuan for the first hour and 40 yuan for the second. Cutting meat really hurts. Whose money didn't come from the wind, did it?

In addition, parking fees are also related to "IQ". I know where parking is cheap and convenient. For example, if you go to Tiananmen Square, if you park your car on the side of the road, it is far and expensive, and it is cheaper to charge you 20 yuan per hour. However, if you park your car in the underground parking lot of the nearest Grand Theatre to Tiananmen Square, you can only go to 6 yuan every hour.

So for young people who don't have a car, the commuting cost in Beijing is still relatively low, but the time cost is too high. How to dialectically handle the relationship between rent and commuting? I suggest renting a house near the company. Even if it is almost the same, you will save 2-3 hours of commuting time every day, and your happiness will be greatly increased. Using these 2-3 hours to do self-media, you can earn one or two hundred yuan.

Four clothes. Clothing expenditure is not rigid, and there is a lot of room for flexibility.

The consumption of daily necessities such as clothes is definitely a non-rigid expenditure with great flexibility. There are millions of brand-name bags, and 20 yuan can carry one on the stall. Clothes, too, are expensive in the sky and cheap underground. Mainly divided into three categories:

One category: daily consumption. For young people, most of the clothes in the library can be worn out, not depreciated. From one hundred yuan to several hundred yuan. From underwear to cotton-padded clothes, it basically meets the demand and the consumption is not high. The first floor of major shopping malls is often filled with "stalls", and there are many clothes with a 10% discount and a 20% discount, ranging from dozens to hundreds of big brands. Of course, if you buy more clothes from a treasure or a store, you can also cope with daily consumption. A month's rent 1 ,000 yuan is not too low to lift your head.

The second category: self-comfort. Young people don't want to live up to their youth, but also want to "be better to themselves". What shall we do? Beijing is several times bigger than a small city. Various brand discounts, outlets, etc. You can also buy genuine big brands. The counters in big shopping malls sometimes engage in activities, and girls who can go shopping can always find "low discounts". For example, when my wife bought me a T-shirt, we didn't follow the trend and grab new products. We only bought it when it was on sale. The original price was 3000 yuan, and we bought it at 600 yuan when the price was 20% off.

To tell the truth, it is really much cheaper to buy brand-name clothes in Beijing than in a small city. I bought a 2000-yuan shirt when I was in my hometown, and there was no discount at all. You have no choice but to buy or not. When I arrived in Beijing, I found a shirt, which was often discounted to less than 3 fold, and I could easily buy it for a few hundred yuan.

Three categories: playing tricks. Who is not young and who doesn't want to pretend? Can understand. Living in a big city, who doesn't have one or two "treasures of the town house" It is understandable for young people to buy some luxury accessories to keep up appearances. In Beijing, you can buy authentic brand-name goods in big shopping malls or in second-hand stores such as warehouses. You can buy on the basis of purchasing or cross-border purchase. All kinds of ways are definitely cheaper than those you buy in small cities, so you can buy them with confidence.

In addition to just-needed consumption such as food, clothing, housing and transportation, Beijing also has a super expensive consumption expenditure, that is, education.

5. Education. There is no bottomless pit, no rigid expenditure on the ceiling.

Few of my classmates in Beijing are handsome. The main reason is that it is spent on children's education. One is time and the other is cost. Spending money like water is noisy, but there is no way. Who dares to "gamble"? In order to get yourself through the psychological barrier, don't be vague about the money you should spend, knowing that it is not necessarily useful, and you will feel at ease if you think clearly.

I have been spending money like water since kindergarten. Public kindergartens rob people, thousands of dollars a month. Private kindergartens have too much flexible space, ranging from thousands to tens of thousands every month. From kindergarten to university (studying abroad), it is simply a lasting war of money consumption.

The cost of comprehensive training is staggering. Mainly interested in hobbies, artistic accomplishment, specialty training, family education, special training and competitions. Everyone is a bottomless pit for spending money. And they are all combined consumption. Some children are simply all-around competitions, with nothing to lose and no money to spend.

Let's not talk about the investment in equestrian, golf and other education, let's talk about the education investment of ordinary people. Piano, a good teacher for an hour 1000. Tutor, excellent teacher for one hour 1000. English, powerful institutions or 1000 yuan an hour. To participate in a competition, I am embarrassed to let my children go on stage without thousands of dollars in packaging. There are not tens of thousands who can't sign up for a training camp abroad.

If a child is going to study abroad from junior high school, it is simply bleeding. America spends 400,000 a year. British 350 thousand. Stop it. It's all tears. Anyway, I'm a famous tutor for children, and I'd love to. One hour 1000 yuan, and I also gave many gifts.

Other miscellaneous expenses.

It is difficult to see a doctor in Beijing, but it is generally not expensive because of medical insurance. High-quality units generally buy supplementary medical insurance for employees, which can basically cover 95%. Beijing's medical resources are unique in China.

Cultural consumption. It is impossible for you to travel, watch concerts and buy some books in Beijing. These expenses are not rigid, but you can't avoid them. This cultural atmosphere is here.

Healthy consumption. Your exercise methods are walking and running, which are not expensive. There are many parks and fitness equipment in Beijing, so you don't have to spend money to play by yourself. But if you have other hobbies, you will basically burn money. Let's play badminton. The venue fee starts from 40 yuan every hour. Play basketball, a good venue every hour in 600 yuan. Going to the gym costs thousands of dollars to get a card.

Entertainment consumption. Young people in Beijing will inevitably go to the movies. Although it is not just needed, it costs a lot every year.

Party entertainment. You can't stop partying and socializing. The grades of eating out in Beijing vary widely, but as long as you don't burn buns, this expenditure is controllable and generally not expensive. The average party, 200 yuan per capita is enough. If you take turns sitting in the village, it is equivalent to AA system, which can cover several thousand yuan a year.

Miscellaneous expenses for communication. Renting a house will also generate water, electricity and mobile phone communication fees, and 300 yuan will be out of power for a month, which can be ignored.

Interpersonal relationship. The main thing is to bring gifts when you get married and send red envelopes when you go home. This can't be counted. It varies from person to person, ranging from several thousand yuan to tens of thousands of yuan a year. Anyway, when I make money, I want to send some money to my parents, not to be a moonlight family.

Consumption and investment are relative. Beijing is an admirable place. Don't be intimidated by consumption.

I have lived in Beijing for 12 years. I feel that Beijing is nothing more than high housing prices and high investment in education. Another way to drive up housing prices is to work hard to make money. Any problem that can be solved with money is not a problem.

Beijing is one of the fairest cities. Entrepreneurs have many entrepreneurial opportunities and fair competition mechanism. In addition, there are many ways to make money.

As long as you work hard, you can make money through multiple channels. For example, in my spare time, I can make two or three hundred dollars a day by doing Didi, setting up stalls and running errands. This is impossible in a small city, there is no such big market and space.

The most important thing is that the competition mechanism is fair. I have a classmate with an annual salary of 2 million. He is a technical expert. He can't fart with a stick. He is a small clerk in a small city, and it is not easy to mix, but in Beijing, in a big company, he works hard, has dry goods, has strength and is worth millions, regardless of his sophistication.

Another point is income diversification, which is impossible in small cities. I know a friend, a clerk in the system, who likes reading. He established a reading community and organized activities for major bookstores every weekend, earning 1 10,000 yuan a day and 80,000 yuan a month. He is quiet at work and has a limited career, but he earns millions a year through his hobbies. If you are in a small city, you are a nerd, basically have no future and are laughed at.

To sum up, according to my 12 years' experience, the only thing that Beijing needs to overcome is the mountain of high housing prices. God closes a door but opens a window. Beijing provides you with more flexible space and a platform to realize your dreams. Beijing is full of vitality and provides a fair competition mechanism. As long as you strive to improve your value and diversify your income, when you can afford a house, you will find that life in Beijing is not expensive and colorful.
