Ningbo polytechnic, referred to as "Ning Vocational College" for short, is located in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, and is a full-time ordinary university approved by the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first demonstration higher vocational colleges in China, a high-level vocational college with China characteristics and a professional construction plan construction unit, the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot colleges of the Ministry of Education, and one of the five key construction higher vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province.

Ningbo polytechnic was formerly Ningbo Secondary Vocational School and Ningbo Staff Amateur University, and 1999 was merged into ningbo polytechnic.
In April 2023, the school official website showed that the school offered 5 undergraduate majors and 33 specialist majors; Full-time vocational students 1. 1 more than ten thousand people.
In 2000, Ningbo Staff Amateur University (Ningbo Federation of Trade Unions Cadre School) and Ningbo (Lihuili) secondary specialized school merged and upgraded to ningbo polytechnic.
In 2006, it was included in the first batch of national demonstration higher vocational colleges. 20 12 March, Ningbo Economic Commission Staff Secondary Vocational School was merged into ningbo polytechnic.
In April, 2023, the official website of the school showed that the school has experts in special allowance from the State Council, national-level teaching masters, national-level industry teaching masters, and technical skill masters from the resource pool of industry tutors from the Ministry of Education.
