Office of national defense education. The National Defense Education Office, referred to as the National Defense Education Office for short, was established in April 2002 to implement the National Defense Education Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), and is responsible for planning, organizing, guiding and coordinating national defense education. In the early 1990s, national defense education offices were set up in all provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government), cities (regions) and counties (autonomous counties, cities and municipal districts) in China, which were responsible for the daily work of national defense education committees or leading groups, and were mainly responsible for organizing, guiding, coordinating and inspecting national defense education within their respective administrative areas.
