Yang Jianxi's Artistic Features
From the whole picture, Hua Yue Chunxiao is different from Professor Yang Jianxi's previous works with Huashan as the theme: this painting is composed in a panoramic way, highlighting the iconic peak of Huashan-Yuexi Peak, and at the same time gathering the peaks together, so that the five peaks stand in the near, middle and far horizons respectively. Close-ups highlight pine trees, temples, Taoist temples and white clouds. The pines are lush and the clouds are rolling; The middle shot highlights the Eryan, Riyueyan, Heilongling and Xiyue Zhangxian of Huashan Mountain, which are dangerous, powerful and durable. The vision is magnificent, elegant, magnificent and ups and downs. Make the picture contain romantic feelings in realism and poetic.

In terms of painting techniques, we take the essence of the north and south landscapes, including the expression method that emphasizes form, technique and posture in the north and the expression method that emphasizes charm, emotion and feeling in the south. Using transcendental artistic conception, emphasizing color as a pen, drawing bones and seeing the charm in bones, so as to achieve arrogant, strong and powerful masculine beauty. On the face, either deficiency means white, white means deficiency, or black means deficiency, and black means reality, so as to achieve the purpose of balance in the process of fading away, which conforms to the humanistic spirit of China's traditional beauty of yin and yang.

The clever use of light crimson expression in color, combined with the organic combination of ink painting and turquoise, makes the whole picture achieve perfect unity in pleasant colors. Such a reasonable use of color makes the overall atmosphere of the picture compatible with modern architecture, and removes the tone of bright colors, thus achieving the harmony and unity of the whole picture and the decoration style of the whole hall building. The whole painting has distinct characteristics of the times and personal style.

After the publication of this masterpiece showing the cultural landscape of Qin Dynasty, it was well received by the representatives, delegates and members attending the "two sessions". Some of them said: this painting looks like an oil painting from a distance, but it is a Chinese painting from a close look, and the colors are beautiful under the light. Clouds and smoke have a strong sense of change and mobility. Close up, the pen and ink are vigorous, the ink color is bright, the traditional flavor is very strong, and the performance is old. Some said: This painting is magnificent and full of movement, showing the majestic and dangerous show of Huashan, which is inseparable from the rich and simple character of Shaanxi people. Some people say that in just 20 days, such a big painting was completed. I can't imagine that this spirit of Lengwa in Shaanxi is efficient and has western characteristics.

The success of "Xiao Chun over a Blue Moon" in just 20 days fully reflects the profound humanistic accomplishment of the painter Professor Yang Jianxi. He completed this painting with perseverance and endurance, which shows that he regards painting as a part of his life, which also brings a cool breeze to some impetuous artistic creation atmosphere in contemporary times. With the help of the cultural landscape of Qin, this painting depicts the spiritual feelings of Qin people and shows the infinite power of artistic life. From this point of view, Professor Yang Jianxi is undoubtedly outstanding in the creation of thematic landscape paintings in contemporary Shaanxi painting circles. (Li Junxiu/Wen)

In the late period of the Cultural Revolution, there was a magazine called Yan 'an Pictorial in Shaanxi, which directly reflected the theme and life of the revolution, and featured creation, sketch, group painting and comic books, which had a great influence throughout the country. Not only many people still remember it, but also many people learn to paint as a copy, and then compete to publish their works, gradually moving towards Shaanxi and even the national painting world. The editor-in-chief of this magazine is Professor Yang Jianxi. At that time, he was energetic and active in thinking. Among the painters at that time, he led the small team of Pictorial Magazine with rich comprehensive knowledge, sensitive social consciousness, wide popularity and ability in teaching, creative practice and theory, which opened the window of Shaanxi painting world to the whole country, publicized Shaanxi and influenced the whole country.

How time flies! In the following decades, Mr. Yang presided over the teaching restoration of the Chinese Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts after the Cultural Revolution, and served as the academic director of the Academy. He has done fruitful organizational work and postgraduate training for a long time in establishing the teaching order and system of the college in the new period, which has left an irreplaceable impression on us.

After retirement, Mr. Yang devoted himself to studying painting methods, going deep into life and understanding the spirit of the times. In addition to creating a large number of works in the case, he also designed and produced a number of murals such as lacquer painting, copper skin, aluminum plate corrosion, color filling, etc., which have been tempered in his creative practice. In 2005, his large-scale mural "Spring Dawn in Hua Yue" painted for the Great Hall of the People was exhibited, and it was well received both inside and outside the province, which was naturally expected.

Teacher Yang's paintings belong to the typical northern painting school. He has always adhered to his own path, insisting that Qingshan does not relax and concentrates on research, which is not affected by various ideological trends in the east, west, north and south. It seems that there is a kind of tenacity to create old wine and good wine, and it is hard to build a car behind closed doors.

Teacher Yang's landscape painting composition is mostly panoramic, mainly in the middle, with reasonable far and near scenery, proper collocation and prominent theme. I thought that the orthodox concept of national sports supported his framing and composition in the depths of his thoughts, so the picture was just the opening without any cover. This is a northern style and a personal style. Mountains and rivers, landforms, history and humanities have created his innate majestic spirit. Rocks, forests and rivers are mainly solids, and they are basically realistic. In the three-dimensional shaping, they are layered, from scratch, gradually deepening, and in the continuous deepening, the more you look at the whole. Individual parts from scratch, real see virtual. Mainly ink color, but also with light crimson or a little turquoise to varying degrees, generally with a small amount of ink color and a large amount of turquoise. Or deep and thick, or rich and clear, with more characteristics and charm.

Teacher Yang's pen seems to be slow and well-thought-out, taking a dignified and solid quality, while the overall framework is promoted in an orderly manner. Write like a falling rock, and write like a farmer's field. Dotted lines are interlaced and dyed together. Green and heavy colors blend with ink, from heavy to light, shades complement each other, simple and dignified. There seems to be a lot of ambiguity in firmness and clarity, which increases the sense of food for thought.

Teacher Yang has been engaged in the teaching and training of some social painters for a long time, and has always insisted on teaching and learning from each other until he retires. He can teach students in accordance with their aptitude, keenly discover the unique qualities of each student and guide them. In these years, I started from elementary school to professional education; From social amateur painter to professional painter, talking with him is smooth and barrier-free, and always "listening to you is better than studying for ten years." Many painters have changed his academic direction, strengthened their self-confidence, found shortcomings, explored the direction of progress, or found ways because of their contact with Mr. Yang. In a word, they can be inspired by his profound knowledge and rich, systematic and comprehensive analysis. I have the deepest understanding of this point, and it is also essential to talk to Teacher Yang in the future.

Teacher Yang's large-scale picture album will be published soon. In addition to congratulating the teacher on his achievements and looking back on Mr. Yang's achievements for decades, I feel that I have never stopped learning. Really: "This mountain is higher than that one." Mr. Yang's comprehensive education has not only taught many students, but also embodied profound, broad and simple aesthetic quality, which is worth learning. His attitude of keeping a low profile and concentrating on learning is an example that Qian Qian should learn from in the current impetuous situation.

Once again, I sincerely congratulate the publication of this weighty album and wish the teacher good health and new heights.
