Pingdingshan College is a comprehensive full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the People's Government of Henan Province. The school is located in Bai Gui Lake and Guo Ding Mountain in Pingdingshan New Town, with beautiful natural environment and profound cultural background.

Pingdingshan College, formerly known as Pingdingshan Normal School, was founded in 1959 and 10. 1August, 1977, Pingdingshan Normal School was approved to attach a junior college class. June 1984, changed to Pingdingshan Teachers College. In May 2004, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

The school actively implements the deployment requirements of the state and Henan Province on the classified development of higher education, and further promotes the transformation and development.
