Xuzhou institute of technology, located in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is an important node city of the National Belt and Road Initiative, a national historical and cultural city and a central city of Huaihai Economic Zone. The school started in 1959 and was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2002. It is a pilot university for the implementation of the national excellent engineer education and training plan and the national integration of production and education development project.
The school actively participated in the construction of local culture, held two high-level forums on China's intangible cultural heritage, and was approved as the first batch of intangible cultural heritage research bases in Jiangsu Province.
