We should explore more attractive and infectious contents and methods to enhance the effectiveness of education. At present, according to the cognitive characteristics of primary and secondary school students, efforts should be made to strengthen the education of national cultural identity, the education of socialist core values and the education leading by the achievements of reform and opening up. At the same time, we should make good use of the resources and vivid examples around us, develop school-based courses and works of music, art, calligraphy, dance and drama that carry patriotic education, design patriotic education theme activities, and enhance the appeal of education. For example, Mr. Li Dazhao is the founding director of our school, and the former residence of Mr. Lu Xun is in our school. We have specially developed a series of courses on "Youth" and "Education" to cultivate students' feelings of home and country, which are well received by students. In addition, movies, micro-videos, study tours and social practice are all good carriers of patriotism education.
Thirdly, from the three dimensions of emotional identity education, value discrimination education and practical experience education, we pursue the unity and integration of patriotism education. Emotion is not born out of thin air, it is rooted in people's life practice, and deep feelings must be based on deep understanding. Patriotism education in schools needs to pay attention to the unity and integration of emotional identification, rational cognition and practical experience. At present, patriotic education is facing challenges such as ideological struggle and intensified conflict of values. It is necessary to strengthen the education of value discrimination, thoroughly explain the truth of patriotism, guide students to understand the fundamental problem of "why, how and how to be patriotic" from rational cognition, and strengthen their psychological identity with the party, the country and socialism.
