First, gratitude: a simple and profound ethics
The feeling of gratitude is simple, and the connotation of gratitude is rich. Gratitude enables us to naturally establish a benign and harmonious relationship with others, the collective, the country and even the world.
If a person is saved by others when he is in danger, then he will naturally be grateful to the person who saved him. This is a natural emotion. Similarly, a person often gets help from others, so he must have a grateful mood for those who have helped himself. Of course, there will be ungrateful people who return evil for good, but he must be despised by the world because he has lost the basic ethics of being a man. In this sense, we say gratitude is a simple emotion, or a simple ethics.
In both cases, you benefit directly from others, so the feeling of gratitude rises immediately. However, in fact, we are receiving countless benefits directly or indirectly all the time, but we don't realize it.
The first is the kindness of parents. Our life was born by our parents, who gave us precious life and made great efforts to bring us up. Parents are willing to sacrifice themselves to protect their children.
Secondly, the teacher's kindness. Parents give us flesh and blood, teachers and elders give us knowledge, experience and life lessons. How can you become an adult without the guidance and guidance of a teacher? If no one transmits knowledge and life wisdom, human beings may stay in the ignorant primitive society forever.
The third is the kindness of the country. We thrive on the land of our motherland, where we eat and use food from Sri Lanka. Therefore, we should be grateful for the kindness of our country. Social development, national stability and people's harmony depend on the management of the government and the protection of the people's army. Therefore, we should feel the goodwill of the government and make efforts to contribute to the country and society in our own posts.
The fourth is the grace of the public. The food we need for daily survival is planted by farmers, the clothes we wear are made by workers, and it depends on the circulation of businessmen, and so on. Therefore, we should respect all workers, cherish happiness and thrift, do our part and give back to the public.
Second, the lack of gratitude and gratitude education.
The feeling of gratitude is so important to people's moral growth, but in reality our gratitude is quite scarce. Through newspapers and TV, we can see that some teenagers are greedy for vanity and pleasure, regardless of their parents' hard work and poor family circumstances, which makes their parents cry; Some students don't know how to respect teachers, ask for advice modestly, but show off their abilities; Some poor students accepted other people's funding without thanking them, and their inner indifference was chilling; Some people complain all day, don't work hard to do their jobs, and always think that the state and units owe themselves a lot; There are also some people who are corrupt for their own selfish interests, regardless of the interests of the collective and the country. What caused such a selfish and ungrateful situation deserves our educators and parents' deep thinking.
First of all, we should find the reason from the school itself. At present, as far as the general situation is concerned, the school still evaluates a student by examination results, and only attaches importance to several subjects related to further studies. "Three Good" originally put moral character first and developed in an all-round way, but in fact, in the evaluation of "three good students", academic performance is always the first, or even just depends on academic performance. The school encourages competition among students intentionally or unintentionally, rather than supporting each other. In such an environment that advocates personal struggle and competition, it is of course difficult for children to learn to be grateful and considerate of others.
Secondly, from the perspective of family education, there are many problems. One of the problems: Nowadays, many parents always try their best to meet their children's material requirements without restraint. The ancients said, "Desire cannot be lowered" and "Desire is an abyss". Satisfying children's desires too unrestricted can only increase their selfishness and greed. How can a selfish child know how to be grateful and how can a selfish child understand others? Therefore, the ancients had the sigh of "spoiling children and being unfilial".
The second question: It is understandable that parents want their children to succeed, but now parents pay almost all their attention to their children's studies, thinking that as long as their children can get into a good university, they will have a good future.
The third question: parents don't respect teachers as much as before, which is of course related to too many negative reports in the media. If it is the responsibility of the school to teach students to be filial to their parents, then it is undoubtedly the most important thing for parents to teach their children to respect their teachers. It is said that children are difficult to teach nowadays, which has a lot to do with the example and words of our parents.
In fact, children's nature is good, and the sense and habit of gratitude should be cultivated from an early age. All we need is a belief and persistence.
Primary school is a critical period for a person's moral and emotional development. The purpose of gratitude and filial piety education is to lay a solid emotional foundation for a person's moral development. In middle schools, we should encourage students to do their duty for their families and make up their minds to serve the motherland, which should also start with the gratitude of their parents, the country and the public. Or some people say, what does this have to do with academic performance? I just need good grades. In fact, focusing on the overall situation and starting from the root causes will definitely get twice the result with half the effort. Don't we often complain that students are not conscious or serious about their studies? If it is for his own study, then when he is tired, unhappy, or has other more interesting things, he will be lazy, otherwise why bother? On the other hand, if he knows how to be grateful, he will consciously restrain himself, study hard, respect his teachers and love his classmates, because if he doesn't, he will be sorry for his parents, teachers, even the country and people all over the world.
In fact, the truth of gratitude is very simple, and the education of gratitude is not difficult. If we can inspire children's gratitude to their parents and teachers and encourage students to support and cooperate with each other, I believe their study and life will be full of vitality and brand-new. Because there is spiritual communication between parents, teachers and students, and classmates when they support each other and are grateful. In this supportive and grateful atmosphere, no matter how much you learn, you may not feel tired. Therefore, we should also reflect, perhaps it is not that children have too much homework, but that we have not found the spiritual strength to stimulate children's learning.
Thirdly, filial piety should be an important part of school moral education.
China's moral culture is "benevolence-oriented", that is to say, the essence of self-cultivation of each of us is inner benevolence. But without inner kindness and respect, the external "ceremony" (behavior habit) is just a form and meaningless. However, this innate human conscience is often obscured by selfishness and material desires. Therefore, how to awaken or reveal this kind conscience has become an important issue in moral genetics. China's Confucian moral education thought is just such a logical way, that is, starting from "filial piety", then expanding from "filial piety" to others, and finally loving the public, all the people in the world are brothers and one in the world.
A person who doesn't know how to honor his parents can hardly say that he can really love others, let alone love the motherland collectively. Therefore, filial piety education should become an important part of school moral education. Etymologically speaking, the word "teach" means "filial piety" on the left and "literature" on the right. The original meaning of "teaching" is actually to teach people filial piety. Filial piety education in schools
The task of education is to guide and inspire students to perceive their parents' great love and deep gratitude. A truly filial person must be diligent in learning, brave in fighting and cheap in official position. So the sage Confucius said, "Dear people, don't be filial."
In a word, these tips made by the "new eight virtues" education in learning methods and teaching principles are very applicable. Therefore, I intend to formally introduce the "new eight virtues" education content into my actual teaching work. When carrying out the "new eight virtues" education, I should first practice what students are required to do. Because the teacher's words and deeds will play a role of demonstration and guidance. Suhomlinski, an educator in the former Soviet Union, said: Remember, you are not only a teacher in class, but also an educator of students, a mentor of life and a moral guide. So I must set an example, practice the "new eight virtues" and never engage in personal formalism! In addition, our school also established the "New Eight Virtues" education research with the theme of "Research on the Eight Virtues Quality Education Mode Combining Morality with Legal System" and made detailed research plans and schemes. I will carefully carry out the research at each stage according to the plan and scheme formulated by the school, and make records, sum up experience and form materials to do my part for the research.
