Introduction of Freedom Square
Freedom Square, formerly known as Chiang Kai-shek Square, is located in the center of Taipei with a total area of 250,000 square meters. It is a public activity square, a large-scale activity square and a cultural performance center in Taiwan Province Province, and also a famous tourist attraction in Taiwan Province Province. Freedom Square is surrounded by Hangzhou South Road, Zhongshan South Road, Ai Guo East Road and Xinyi Road, with the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall as the main body and distributed in public buildings such as Chiang Kai-shek Park, Freedom Square Arch, Zhanyang Avenue, National Theatre and National Concert Hall. On June 7, 2007, Chen Shui-bian advocated going to Jianghua. When he was about to leave office, he renamed the "Dazhong Zheng Zhi" on the archway of the square as "Freedom Square" and the "Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall" as "Taiwan Province Democracy Memorial Hall". On July 20th, 2009, the Ministry of Education of Taiwan Province Province changed its name to "Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall" and put back the old plaque, but the "Freedom Square" in the archway is still in use today.
