2. Shangtang Town (formerly Shangtang Town) is the county seat of Yongjia County, the political, cultural, scientific and educational management center of the county, located in the south of Yongjia County, downstream of nanxi river, and 14km away from Wenzhou City. Yongjia was called Yongning County before Emperor Wendi opened the emperor for nine years (AD 589). In the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Yongning Township, and Shangtang belonged to the 39th capital of Yongning Township. It used to be a lake and pond. Xiatang (Longquan Mountain) and Yushan (Zen Mountain) divided it into three ponds (Shangtang, Tang Zhong and Xiatang). San Pu (Pudong, Puxi and Pukou) is named Shangtang because it is located in the upper part of Yushan Mountain.
