2. South China University of Technology, located in Guangzhou, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. Its campus is divided into Wushan Campus, University Town Campus and Guangzhou International Campus, and it is the winner of the first "National Civilized Campus". The school has a long history, which can be traced back to the first Class A industrial school established in Guangdong Province in 19 18. It was formally established during the adjustment period of national institutions of higher learning from 65438 to 0952, and it is one of the four major institutes of technology in new China. 1960 became a national key university; 198 1 was approved by the State Council as the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding units; 1993 is the first university established in China province; 1995 entered the ranks of "2 1 1 project".
3. Jinan University. Jinan University is the first overseas Chinese university founded by the government in China. The word "Jin 'an" comes from Shangshu Gong Yu: "The east is gradually in the sea, the west is in quicksand, and the south is combined, which teaches the world." It means facing South Asia and spreading Chinese culture. At present, the school is a national "double-class" construction university jointly established by the Central United Front Work Department, the Ministry of Education and Guangdong Province, and is directly under the management of the Central United Front Work Department.
4. Guangdong University of Technology. Guangdong University of Technology is a provincial key university and a key construction university of high-level universities in Guangdong Province. It was formed by the merger of 1995 Guangdong Institute of Technology, Guangdong Institute of Machinery and South China Institute of Architecture (East Campus), and 1958 provided undergraduate education. For more than 60 years, the school has always adhered to the school-running philosophy of "growing with the rise of Guangdong and contributing to the development of Guangdong", strengthened deep integration with the industry, and constantly promoted connotation construction, and its school-running strength, social influence and international reputation are increasing day by day. In 2020, it became one of the top 500 universities in academic ranking of world universities for the first time, and Times Higher Education World University ranked 34-50 universities in Chinese mainland.
5. Southern Medical University, formerly known as the First Military Medical University of PLA, was founded in 195 1 year, and 1979 was identified as a national key university. In August 2004, it was transferred to Guangdong Province as a whole and renamed Southern Medical University. The only medical college in key construction institutions of high-level universities in Guangdong Province, the first batch of universities in China, the only one in Guangdong Province, the National Health and Wellness Committee, Guangdong Province. One of the first eight universities offering eight-year undergraduate and doctoral programs in clinical medicine, the first pilot university offering excellent physician education and training programs, the only independent medical college offering eight-year medical education, and the winner of the China government scholarship for overseas students, were selected as members of the national "11plan", the national innovative talent training demonstration base, the national international scientific and technological cooperation base and CDIO engineering education alliance.
