Study hard, love reading, and can read.

Hello everyone! I want to introduce you to a little girl. Her name is Claudia. A child can also be named Elizabeth, or a boy's name. There are as many people's names as there are flowers in the world, but it's a pity that you can't take any one as your name. Claudia asked me with a picture book in her hand, "Where did the book come from?" Do they grow from trees? "I said no, the little girl didn't believe me." I think books grow on trees! "She clapped her hands and said. She thinks that books, like red cherries, yellow oranges and brown chestnuts, grow on branches, large and small, rough and smooth, and can be picked as long as you reach out. ""Little picture books grow on the shortest branches, "said Claudia. Children can reach them as soon as they reach out. How amazing! Children grow taller, their books grow taller with the trees, and children's arms become longer and can reach higher. "I said," books don't grow from trees, but from the minds of poets and writers. "Claudia cocked his head and thought about it. We are all adults, and we all understand. However, it would be great if there were really the towering trees with books in the world as little Claudia imagined. This story is not a fairy tale I made up, but a dedication written by the famous German writer Mrs. Lepman for the first International Children's Book Festival. I hope there is a big tree full of books in each of us. The growth of this tree needs beautiful fantasy and extraordinary courage. Today, let's have a heart-to-heart talk under this big tree full of books. Let's feel the fragrance of flowers and the sweetness of fruits under the shade of this big tree.

Stevenson, a famous British writer, wrote a children's poem "Lighter": Mei, a famous children's writer in China, often uses "lighter" as a metaphor. He always said that those people, those children's literature workers, like Li Li in the poem, are also people who light lamps. They bring interesting and thought-provoking books to children to read with great interest. In a daze, they even have a direction in life. I think, as teachers, we should also be a lamplighter, so that every child's childhood will be elegant, excellent and perfect because of the illumination of books.

Never like today, more and more people pay attention to extracurricular reading. There are more and more people, including children's literature workers, teachers, parents and our students. "When you grow up, you must read five books", which is the loud slogan of our Nanjing Teaching and Research Section to vigorously promote extracurricular reading! Now, we deeply realize: 1, extracurricular reading is not a "personal behavior" that can be done, but a "national requirement" that must be done. "Chinese Curriculum Standard" clearly stipulates that in the lower grades: accumulate your favorite idioms, aphorisms and epigrams. Recite 50 excellent poems (paragraphs). The total amount of extracurricular reading is not less than 50 thousand words. Middle age: form the habit of reading books and newspapers, and collect and exchange books and materials with classmates. The total amount of extracurricular reading is not less than 400,000 words. Senior year: Try to use information channels such as library and internet to carry out inquiry reading. Expand your reading range, and the total amount of extracurricular reading is not less than 6.5438+0 million words. 2. Extracurricular reading is not a dispensable extra burden, but an equally important task as in-class teaching. Teachers often regard in-class learning as a hard task and extracurricular reading as a soft indicator, which is incorrect. When talking about the role of extracurricular reading, the famous linguist Mr. Lv Shuxiang once said: "A few students with good Chinese proficiency should ask about their experiences and say with one voice that they have benefited from extracurricular reading." Du Fu's "Reading is like a book and writing is like a god" emphasizes the relationship between reading and writing. 3. Extracurricular reading is not a "dinner" or "fast food" reading, but a preconceived reading of classic books. Of course, fast-food reading has its value. However, its offside and offside will bring no small negative impact. Nowadays, fast-food reading or shallow reading has occupied students' considerable reading time and space, which even means that children are far away from the deep spiritual world, resulting in the loss of thickness and self-restraint, which has brought impetuous and shallow prevalence. Extracurricular reading can't be finished today or tomorrow, but every student must form the habit of reading every day until his life. I always insist on this, because there will be "reading after class, starting from the first day of the new semester". Almost every time I have a new lesson, my first lesson must be to emphasize the role of reading and teach children how to take notes by hand. Colleagues who are familiar with me all know that my mechanical homework has been very little, and there are certainly few papers for my children. Even on the eve of the junior high school graduation exam, I took my children to read extracurricular books without hesitation. Fortunately, their Chinese exam results always make me happy. So I thought: My insistence is right. This is why I can stand here today and talk to you about extracurricular reading. I dare not say "my mind is full of poems and books", but I can say that my classmates' Chinese exam results have given me some confidence. Below, I will talk about how I guide students' extracurricular reading based on my own teaching practice.

■ One of the thoughts: What to read?

Children are in the golden stage of growth. When choosing reading materials for children, children's age characteristics, psychological characteristics, reading level and other factors must be considered. First, it should be extensive and conducive to the accumulation of knowledge; Second, health is conducive to physical and mental development; Thirdly, standardization is conducive to the improvement of Chinese literacy. Generally speaking, the articles I choose for students are mainly based on the following five criteria: first, century classics, such as Andersen's fairy tales, Grimm's fairy tales, Aesop's fables, Journey to the West, Arabian Nights, Robinson Crusoe ... second, knowledgeable, such as children's encyclopedia, 100,000 whys, and. For example, Bing Xin's Smile, Zhang Xiaofeng's Lily, Suhomlinski's I Want to Kiss the Hen, Tagore's Golden Flower ... Fourth, those close to children's lives, such as Cao Wenxuan's Bronze Sunflower, Naughty Boy's Day, Huang Beijia's I Want to Be a Good Boy, and Yang's Honey Riding a Wheelbox.

■ Thinking 2: How to read?

Everyone has a different way of reading. Personally, I advocate "being close to the mother tongue" and moving reading in a perceptual way. In fact, this topic was put forward by Xu Dongmei, a lecturer in Chinese Department of Yangzhou Education College. I like this topic because I like the word "close". "Approaching" is a gesture. When we face our mother tongue with this attitude, every pore is opened: when every pore is opened, the thoughts, feelings and values permeated in the words can penetrate into our souls. In specific guidance, students can be guided to read step by step from the following three levels.

◆ The first level: Although my body has no bright phoenix wings, I feel the harmonious heartbeat of the sacred unicorn-exploring the interpretation of the author's thoughts. The so-called reading to explore the author's thoughts is to inspire children's hearts to connect with the author's hearts, which is the basis for realizing dialogue. So I have a long-term homework, that is, every time I go to a new text, I need to find information related to the text through various channels. For example, when I previewed Morning, I not only checked Lu Xun's information, but also learned something about Santan Yingyue and Shou Jason Wu. In addition, I also made a corresponding understanding of some knowledge points involved in the article, such as lessons, Confucius, poetry, and Hua Xinfeng's Twenty-four Articles. In this way, in the process of searching and collecting materials, students have actually started their reading process. They began to approach the author step by step, began to touch their thoughts, and the dialogue began.

◆ The second level: the river is green and the springs are full of mountains and rivers-open your eyes and enter the beautiful reading. We can introduce a large number of supplementary teaching materials according to the text content, author, protagonist, genre, unit training points and students' learning trends, so that beautiful articles can nourish children's hearts, cultivate children's sentiments and subtly influence students' spirit and personality. For example, after studying the article Maupassant's Apprentice, I instructed my students to read many works by Maupassant and Flaubert, such as Maupassant's Necklace and Flaubert's Madame Bovary. From Maupassant, I thought of two other short story masters in the world, one is Chekhov and the other is O Henry. I took my students to read Chekhov's The Chameleon, The Death of a Little Civil Servant and The Man in the Trap, and I also took my students to read O 'Henry's The Gift of the Magi, The Last Green Leaf, The Police and Hymns. For another example, after learning Bing Xin's "Pick Only Children for Many Lines", I took my children to read a series of articles by Bing Xin, such as Laughter, such as One or Two Past Events, such as For Young Readers, such as Paper Boat. Children seem to understand, they will never understand the depth of adults. However, the feelings and philosophies after childhood contact for a long time have some impressions and memories, which do not require too much understanding, and are also a long-term inspiration for their lives and poems. Just like in the world of adults, you never know the meaning of fairy tales-maybe when you read Daughter of the Sea for the first time, you only heard beauty and sadness. Only when you grow up, will you understand that it contains the price of love and silent sacrifice; The first time I see Cinderella, I will think of playing with the little angels in cartoons. When you grow up, you will understand that grass roots and wild fruits are your only food, and repentance and forgiveness are your only voices.

◆ The third level: cranes in the clear sky row clouds, leading poems to Bixiao-reading for the root of national culture. Chinese is a poetic language, which can turn every meteor, every cloud and every star into a poetic existence. This poem came from ancient times, through Tang poetry and Song poetry, through the songs of Chu and Han Fu, through the lightness of Cambridge, through the lingering rain lane, and came to us. It is necessary to give full play to the basic role of Chinese curriculum in carrying forward the excellent culture of the motherland and absorbing the culture of human progress, so that students can take root in national culture from an early age and cultivate their feelings of loving the language and characters of the motherland. Therefore, I have always encouraged children to remember Tang poetry and Song poetry, which has rich cultural accumulation; Read ancient and modern sages and learn to be a modest gentleman. It can be seen that reading classics is the highest realm of extracurricular reading, and it is also a life course that a mature reading must go through. Mr. Yu believes that young minds are pure and empty, and laying the foundation with classics can stimulate their cultural yearning for life. When we see children immersed in the joy of reading classics, with bright eyes and flying spirits, we will feel that classics care for children's hearts and nourish their spirits like spring rain. However, children are still children after all, and reading needs the guidance of teachers. One thing I often ask my children is: Can you read? ▲ First of all, learn to choose when reading; ▲ Second, learn to think when reading; ▲ Again, learn to write when reading. "No pen and ink, no reading", many students like to circle comments on books to show their attention, which is a good habit. Of course, many times, there is no need to stick to the form, as long as students are really interested in reading. In short, in the long run, students will accumulate and learn a lot of knowledge unintentionally. In addition, they will also play a subtle role in the conception, layout, language organization, wording and sentence making of articles, and show it in their writing ability. Writing ability is not taught by parents and teachers, and most children learn it by reading a lot of literary works.

Reading is a beautiful scenery in life. Because reading, even if you walk alone, you are not lonely. There is a free breeze to invite flowers or white clouds as companions, and there is a dream that a beautiful rainbow will appear in the distant sky. Nietzsche said: "Reading is walking in the knowledge and mind of others." Text is the expression of the author's voice, and the blending of text and humanities can support the colorful and broad creative space of the Chinese world. Real reading needs precipitation, and real reading needs the participation of the soul. It is the roaming of a person's soul in the spiritual world constructed by words and symbols, and the process of self-discovery and self-growth in this roaming. The first time I saw The Little Match Girl, the last two paragraphs in the article wet the hearts of the children. After reading it, I asked the child, "What is your feeling?" The children said, "Poor little match girl!" I said, "You only heard one voice. If you calm down and read it again, you will certainly hear more voices. " The children stopped talking and we began to read quietly. A few minutes later, a child raised his hand. A boy said, "Although we feel sorry for the little girl, the little girl feels very happy. Look, she still has a smile on her lips. " A girl said, "How can a little girl feel happy when she has no food, no clothes and no one loves her?" I didn't speak. Instead, it projected a message from the little match girl written by Andersen. The children read in silence. After a while, the little boy said, "I know, the little match girl is the epitome of Andersen's miserable childhood." The little girl just said, "This story conveys Andersen's desire for maternal love and family." I said, "The yearning for a better and happier life is the eternal theme of Andersen's fairy tales." With this understanding, I asked the children to read The Little Match Girl again, and the classroom was suddenly silent, but I knew that they told more with silence than with sound. "Stay away quietly", reading is to calm down, maintain peace of mind, endure loneliness, not afraid of loneliness, and concentrate on it. We should not only concentrate on reading, but also concentrate on thinking and listening to the voices in the book. Only with your heart can you hear the sound of flowers blooming.

However, when the traces of taking the exam are still deep, extracurricular reading becomes a luxury; When everything is utilitarian, extracurricular reading is no longer a kind of enjoyment. It is a warm and romantic dream to stick to the essence of education and make extracurricular reading a poetic dwelling place for children. As I said before, we are all lamplighters. Now I want to say that we are also dream catchers. This reminds me of my blog name: poetic language. Not long ago, Wang Yizhou, an outstanding representative of poetic language, also gave a lecture to everyone. In fact, the poetic classroom has long started from the "Xingtan Lecture" by Confucius, the pioneer of education. Since then, poetry has become the pursuit of more people. Learn from nature, and the road is seamless. What we have may only be the fragrance of nature and the brilliance of ideals. French writer Margaret Usana said, "My original hometown is books", and Su Tong once wrote an article entitled "Books, My Original Hometown". However, due to numerous exams, heavy pressure and cruel competition, many teachers have already smoothed their edges and corners in reality, and poetic education seems to have been crushed by harsh reality. Isn't it sad that there is no poetic education? Let's keep this big tree full of books and our spiritual home together.

What we talked about just now was how to guide children to read. In fact, to do this kind of guidance well, teachers should first read books. In my opinion, teachers' reading plays at least two roles. The first is the demonstration influence, which exerts a subtle influence on students. First: rich accumulation is a continuous improvement of oneself.

Reading and lighting

Hello everyone! When the new curriculum comes into our life, ordinary days will have a strange color. Chewing the new curriculum is like chewing a green olive, with a touch of bitterness, but more aftertaste in your heart. What is the new course? The new course is dialogue. Today is my third and last conversation with the training class teacher. There are some faint joys and some shallow fears. Thank you, Mr. Feng from the Municipal Education and Training Center, for always giving me the opportunity to exercise myself.

I am the kind of person who walks between reality and fairy tales. I have many fantasies and a little despair. Just like a poem said: Fairy tales are like banyan trees on an isolated island/rise and fall with the tide of the years/listen to the sound of "Gege" in the depths of vines/fairy tales grow there ... When you don't want to grow up, dance hand in hand with those fairy tales swaying in your dreams, as if welcoming a spiritual spring full of flowers. It is the book that makes me understand what beauty is like water, and what is true purity when it is prosperous. Book, remember all the joys and sorrows we have experienced, feet are thousands of miles long, and water is enough to make waves. Reading has become the most important date in my life. I know that there are always various reasons in life that contribute to what kind of existence I prefer. I can't live without reading. I am obsessed with a kind of enjoyment, that is, reading at night under the light of night. Kaii Higashiyama, a famous Japanese writer, wrote in "Listening to Springs": Everyone has a spring in his heart, and his voice is obscured by the daily tumultuous life. When you suddenly wake up in the middle of the night, you will hear the melodious sound coming from the depths of your heart, which is the gurgling spring! Looking back on the road I have traveled, I have been lost many times in this wilderness. At this time, I heard the spring in my heart and found signs of progress. Margaret Usana, a famous French writer, said: "My original hometown is books", and Su Tong, a famous writer in China, once wrote an article "Books, My Original Hometown". Reading should be a part of a teacher's life. Because teachers like reading, our children will gradually like reading, which is a subtle influence. Professor Zhu Yongxin wrote in "My Educational Ideal": To be a wise walker, on the way to education, with light steps, a smile on his face and sunshine in his heart, everything is ready for education in his schoolbag: surging passion, tolerant mind and charming brain for reading and thinking. "As teachers, we should first become-

intellectual

Let the study be connected with the classroom, and let our classroom be filled with books. A teacher named Liu Defu wrote in his article: "I regard textbooks and reference books as fields of responsibility, which I must intensively cultivate every day;" I regard the works of literary scholars who graze their thoughts and feelings every night as my own land, which is my greatest reward. Suddenly one day, I found that my area of responsibility has no boundaries, and sweetness is the land of my spiritual life. Some teachers let the responsible field torture them to death and put more energy into the private plots. Chinese teachers are not pure writers or literary editors. They need to perform more quintessential farming experiences on private plots, and then pass these farming experiences, which are permeated with cultural depth and literary meaning, to the classroom and to the students' composition books. A Chinese teacher who is not responsible for farming well is not a competent Chinese teacher, and a Chinese teacher who has no private land is a defective teacher. "His words made me think. As a teacher, we need to read all kinds of books, including social encyclopedias, life sketches, educational and teaching theory books or monographs, children's literature, etc., so as to get into children's hearts more easily. Relatively speaking, I prefer reading children's literature, and I like reading whatever children like. When I was alone, I watched a dream of red mansions and said, "Flowers are full of flowers, but fragrance is dead, and no one has pity." "Xiangyun said," Cross the pond and cross the crane shadow. "Leng Yue buried the flower soul," Daiyu said. "When we are with our children, we read Merry ma's diary together. Merry ma said, "Mom, if I don't go to school, I won't cry all my life. "When I was alone, I read When You Come and Look at the Flowers by Wang Shouren, a thinker of the Ming Dynasty: Mr. You traveled to Nanzhen. A friend pointed to the flower tree in the rock and asked, "Nothing is unintentional. What does this flower tree have to do with my heart when it blooms and falls in the mountains? "The gentleman said," When you didn't see this flower, it died with your heart. "When you come to see this flower, the color of this flower will be understood for a while. You will know that this flower is not in your heart. " When we are with our children, we will read Helen Keller's If I Have Three Days to See. I just wander between the responsibility field and the private plot, reading books every day.

When I boarded Tiger's Water, I carefully read his masterpiece Ugly Mother and felt his inner struggle and tear. When I participated in Wang Yizhen's Autumn, I read another children's poem Autumn Wind Doll, and felt his fantasy and jumping. When I went to see Zhao's "Looking at the Moon", I even drowned myself in those poems with the moon. In the morning, when I was riding my bike, I began to recite: the spring tide in Lian Haiping, the bright moon on the sea. Come back by bike in the afternoon, and continue to recite: the fragrance of red lotus root lingers in autumn. Gently untie Luo Shang and go to Lan alone. Who sent the brocade book? The word "wild goose" came back, and the moon was full in the west wing ... In the evening, I sat quietly at my desk and began to read Zhao's Grass of Life and Soul of Poetry alone, and I felt his freshness, broadness and sincerity from his prose. He said that with a free heart to enjoy and listen to music, the concert splashed crystal waves in his heart. So I thought, if you listen to the moonlight with a poetic heart, you will certainly hear the sound of the moonlight flowing quietly. Because of reading, you will deepen your understanding of the text. Only in this way can we really enter the realm of "inside and outside" as the famous lyricist Wang Guowei said, right? However, as a teacher, it is not enough to be a scholar, but also to be a-

The Lamplighter

Reading warms children's hearts and ourselves. So, on that tree full of books that never leave, on that tall branch, bookbirds will sing for you and me day and night: read-read-read, read-read, read-read-read. So, how much to read? Read what? How to read it?

■ One idea: How many books do you read?

"Chinese Curriculum Standards" stipulates that in the lower grades, the total amount of extracurricular reading is not less than 50,000 words; The total amount of extracurricular reading in middle age is not less than 400 thousand words; The total amount of extracurricular reading in senior three is not less than 6.5438+0 million words. What is the concept of 1 ten thousand characters? Books like Diary of Merry ma have about 654.38+800,000 words, and books like Give me three days of light have about 280,000 words. An average of 1 10,000 words is four or five relatively large books. Is it too little to read only this extracurricular book for six years? Therefore, the curriculum standard stipulates: not less than 1 10,000 words. Conditional schools or classes can completely break through this bottom line.

■ Thinking 2: What to read?

There are countless books suitable for students to read, but students have a heavy academic burden and limited time and energy, so the choice of extracurricular reading materials is very important. People often say that opening books is beneficial, but it is not all beneficial. Some unhealthy books, newspapers, magazines and illegal publications may lead people astray, and primary school students who are inexperienced should be especially vigilant. So we should make a scientific bibliography. First of all, we should choose books according to students' cultural foundation, cognitive level and psychological characteristics, such as fairy tales, fables and folk stories. , more suitable for primary and secondary school students; For senior pupils, we should recommend famous books to them. Secondly, the bibliography stipulated in the Chinese curriculum standard should be the required reading for students after class, and other Chinese and foreign famous works or excellent works related to Chinese texts should be the selected reading bibliography. There are also some works that are close to students' lives. Although they have nothing to do with the text, they are very popular and can be recommended to students for reading because of their great influence on students. In addition, we should recommend excellent books on current literature and natural sciences to broaden students' reading horizons, which requires Chinese teachers to read widely, keep abreast of the latest books and newspapers and recommend them to students in time. Nanjing Teaching and Research Section has a specific recommended bibliography, which can be used as a reference when we recommend books to children.

■ Thinking 3: How to read?

First of all, learn to choose when reading. There is an idiom called "opening books is beneficial", which means that as long as you study, you will gain something. But no matter whether the tree is good or bad, it may not be good to see it when it is used. Therefore, we should guide students to screen and choose from the vast number of books. Secondly, you should learn to think while reading. Suhomlinski said: "Students who can think while reading and think while reading will not fall behind in their studies." Third, learn to write when reading.

■ Thinking 4: What are the common types of extracurricular reading guidance courses?

(1) Read the recommended courses. Mainly introduce extracurricular reading materials to students for them to choose from. There can be book recommendation, article recommendation and content introduction; Teachers' recommendation and students' recommendation can be combined, and unified recommendation and decentralized recommendation can be combined. (2) Reading method instruction course. Guide students to use reference books reasonably; Teach four common reading methods: intensive reading, extensive reading, browsing and speed reading; Guide students to think while reading, and improve their abilities of understanding, evaluating people and things, associating and imagining. Teaching students to use "group gaze method" to improve reading speed; Cultivate students' habit of "no pen and ink, no reading". (3) Narrative after reading. Organize students to retell some or all of the books they have read, deepen their understanding of what they have read and train their oral expression ability. Make a request before narration and make an evaluation after narration. (4) Exchange comment class. This is an important link for teachers to guide extracurricular reading, and it is also an important link for soldiers to teach and learn from soldiers. Can organize students to exchange the gains or experiences of extracurricular reading; Students can also be organized to make special comments or comprehensive comments on the contents of the periodicals they read. (5) remedial classes for reading notes. This paper mainly introduces four writing methods of reading notes to students: abstract method, outline method, sentiment method and evaluation method. Of course, there is no fixed method for teaching and no fixed method for learning. How to teach the extracurricular reading guidance course varies from person to person and from person to person. Everything is subject to the actual effect, so don't stick to it. Let me show you a set of reading notes of Li Yiwen in my class. The topic is-thoughts on reading The Old Man and the Sea.

( 1)

Today, I read the first part of a foreign classic The Old Man and the Sea, The Old Man and the Children. This chapter is mainly about an old man who is in an awkward position. He hasn't caught a fish for 84 days, so the children who helped him catch fish had to follow their parents' advice and go fishing in a lucky boat. But the old man is still full of hope that he can catch a big fish, and respects the little boy, treating him as an adult, winning his friendship and getting his help.

There are many details in the article, and the author profoundly depicts the characters' personality characteristics in ordinary and simple language, which makes the characters vivid and allows readers to walk into their lives. For example, to describe the hands of the elderly, there is a saying that "their hands often pull big fish with ropes, leaving deep scars." But none of these scars are new. They are as old as eroded rocks in the desert, where there are no fish to play. "Just over 50 words convey these messages to us: First of all, the old man is hardworking and has caught many big fish. Secondly, because the old man hasn't caught any fish for a long time, the scars on his hands are getting old. This makes it easy for us to think of the poor life of the elderly. Then, through the conversation between the old man and the child in the restaurant, it is expressed that the old man is kind, understands and respects the child, and the old man and the child have deep feelings, which lays the foundation for the child to take care of the old man's life.

The author's description of characters can grasp the main characteristics of characters and make them appear vividly in front of us, which is what we need to learn from the author in the writing process.

(2)

Today, I watched the second chapter of The Old Man and the Sea, fishing in the sea. Last time in the book, I wrote that the old man hadn't caught a fish for 84 days. He was unwilling and went to sea before dawn the next day. He rowed the boat near a deep pit called Dashuijing Ancient Buildings Ancient Building. At this time, the sun has risen very high. He found many fish, but he didn't catch any. Later, he finally caught a ten-pound albacore tuna, but he didn't catch a big fish until noon. Just when he wanted to take a nap, a big fish took the bait. But the fish dragged the boat to the depths of the sea for four hours, and the sun was about to set, farther and farther away from the coast.

In this novel, the author asks the old man to call the ocean "her" and thinks that only those who have a good impression on the ocean will call the ocean "her". Let the old people call the ocean "she", which shows the old people's respect for the ocean and their character of not complaining about others. Although we haven't caught fish for 84 days, the old man still loves the sea and shows his optimism.

In addition, the self-talk and psychological activities of the elderly are also described in detail, which makes the image of the elderly more full. Let us see a brave old man, an old man who dares to accept challenges. The courage of the elderly to go upstream may really be lacking by many people. ...

There should be five more articles, one * * * seven. This is the only reading assignment I assigned to students during the holiday in May 17. As Yu Yang, a classmate in our class, said: Reading is like picking up colorful shells. Along the way, I found many sparkling pearls in my pocket. Yin, a classmate in our class, said: a home without books is like a stream without fish; A home without books is like a sky without white clouds; A home without books is like a big tree without green leaves; A home without books is like a paradise without children. It is these two children who have just won the first prize and the third prize of the "Spring Rain Cup" composition contest for primary and secondary school students in Nanjing. This is really a comfort to me. Reading depicts the background of life for children's childhood. I love two slogans of Mrs. Lepman, the founder of Munich Youth Library:

Give us the book! Give us wings!

Reading and thinking, where can't you fly freely!
