Longman is one of the famous educational publishing companies under Pearson Education Group, the largest educational publishing group in the world. The Development of Longman English in China

In 1970s, Longman Practical Basic English was introduced to China.

Since 1980, Longman's New Concept English has entered China and become a classic textbook for generations to learn English in China.

1988, Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English and Chinese, the first edition of Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English, was officially launched to students in China and soon became one of the top ten bestsellers in China.

In the early 1990s, entrusted by UNESCO, Longman Company cooperated with People's Education Society to compile English textbooks for junior and senior high schools in compulsory education in China, which are still widely used today.

In 2003, People's Education Society and Longman cooperated again to compile and publish the English textbook of the new curriculum standard.
