I want to take the English translation certificate. I don't know what certificate is more authoritative now, and what textbooks to buy to study?
It depends on whether you want to develop in the north or the south, whether you want to engage in business translation or conference political translation. Generally speaking, if the South develops, it is recommended to take an examination of Shanghai Kou Zhong or Shanghai Gaokou, majoring in interpretation.

In the north, government agencies and other suggestions are to test the CATTI and translation qualification certificate of the Ministry of Personnel, which is divided into several grades. If you say so, it is recommended to take the third-level translation or third-level interpretation. But CATTI is very hard, the passing rate is very low, and English majors are not very happy. If you want to engage in the translation industry, CATTI Level 2 is just a stepping stone, but you can take a test and exercise your translation ability.

I haven't been admitted to Shanghai Gaokou, but if I enter the enterprise, Shanghai Gaokou is still very authoritative, especially in the south, which is also very helpful for entering foreign companies. It is recommended to take the intermediate or advanced exam according to your own ability and do what you can.

There are five textbooks in Kou Zhong: Interpretation, Listening, Translation, Reading and Spoken English, which are published by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press.

In addition, with the past years, you can take the exam. The written test is still easy to pass. The oral exam is a bit difficult.

I have collected some application materials for your reference:
