The Academy of Fine Arts of Yanbian University was established in 2009. Its predecessor was the Fine Arts Department of Yanbian University. It is the only institution of higher learning in China that trains North Korean art professionals. Located in Yanji City, the capital of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in the "Golden Triangle" of Northeast Asia, it belongs to Yanbian Engineering University (2 1 1). It is a comprehensive and multidisciplinary higher art education institution integrating professional teaching, creative design, theoretical research and social practice. In addition, the college often invites famous experts and scholars at home and abroad to give lectures.
