Reflections on the Training of "Four Elements and Eight Steps —— Brain-strengthening Curriculum Design"
1On October 22-23, a friend recommended 165438 to join Dr. Zhou Tao's two-day workshop on "Four Elements and Eight Steps-Brain-friendly Curriculum Design". I am very pleased that you have come.

Dr. Zhou spent two days analyzing the design direction and methods of teaching from the aspects of the underlying structure of teaching, brain science, psychology, etc. Dr. Zhou Tao read extensively in order to study the underlying structure and logic of teaching. Based on German package technology, teaching intervention technology in performance improvement, teaching design, cognitive psychology, brain science and other multidisciplinary knowledge, the course shows the four elements and eight steps curriculum design and development method based on brain science.

Based on Dr. Zhou's serious and rigorous academic attitude, there are many novel and unique knowledge highlights in the course, and some of them are even more touching.

First of all, brain neuroscience

Teaching is a complex behavior. To design a good course, we must understand the working principle of the brain. The brain is 2.5% of the weight of the human body, which is what we often call "two and a half pounds", including the brain, cerebellum and brain stem. , composed of 80 billion to 1000 billion neurons. The brain is divided into left brain (rational brain) and right brain (perceptual brain), which contains both excitatory and inhibitory transmitters. At the same time, according to the evolution stage of human brain, it can be divided into reptilian brain, mammalian brain and intelligent brain. Only the intelligent brain is unique to human beings and can analyze, make decisions and judge. The brain is also divided into frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe and temporal lobe. The frontal lobe involves almost all psychological functions, and its functions are extensive and complex, such as memory, language, intelligence and personality. The main functions of the parietal lobe are somatosensory, leaf sensation and tactile sensation. The occipital lobe is responsible for visual processing, while the temporal lobe is responsible for auditory processing ... Dr. Zhou Tao is designing a course based on brain neuroscience, because only in this way can the course designer know what it is and then why.

Second, the three elements of a good course

The three elements of a good course include objectives, contents and activities. These goals are obtained by analyzing the learning needs. Curriculum objectives are divided into six levels: memory, understanding, application, analysis, evaluation and creation. The content includes cognition (knowledge), action (skill) and emotion (attitude). Curriculum design is all around these three elements. The goal is the overall direction of the course, and the content and activities are circulated according to the direction to mobilize the students' left and right brains.

Three, four yuan eight-step curriculum design method

? Embedding "Eight Steps of Big Four Elements" into "Eight Steps of Small Four Elements" can aggregate complex and difficult curriculum design and development into a set of clear, easy-to-learn and easy-to-use curriculum development tools, and design a clear path for trainers and curriculum developers.

Eight steps in the fourth hospital

Four elements: ① Extraction of content-② Design activities-③ Development of materials-④ Evaluation of effect.

Eight steps: ① Analysis of learning needs—② Writing learning objectives—③ Designing test rules—④ Extracting learning contents—⑤ Modeling and sequencing the contents —⑤Designing teaching activities —⑧Developing teaching materials —⑧Evaluating course items.

Small four elements: ① Stimulate motivation, ② Explain new knowledge, ③ Practice experience, ④ Transform application.

Eight small steps: ① Creating a scene—② Initiating reflection—③ Establishing an image—④ Forming a concept—⑤ Experiencing exercises —⑧Reviewing in stages —⑧Refining and summarizing —⑧Mastering everything.

Highlights of the course (the following contents are shared by former students, because the findings are more detailed than my own summary (* *))

1, environmental construction of pre-class training ground

As soon as I entered the course classroom, I was attracted by the wild environment arranged by Teacher Zhou. Not only the summary diagram of "four elements and eight steps", six curriculum objectives and six principles of teaching activities are presented intuitively around the classroom, but also many teaching props (roots, ringtones, notes, left and right brains, stickers, cards, etc. ) is placed on the table of each group. As the saying goes, pictures are better than words, which makes people have the impulse to experience immediately. The teacher has written the schedule of the two-day course and the main teaching knowledge points on the whiteboard. As the teacher said at the beginning, "In fact, the moment you arrive at the classroom, your class will begin." This point, whether in our project course operation or in our own teaching as a teacher, needs to be learned, providing students with a good on-site environment, creating a learning atmosphere and better attracting students to participate.

2. Diversified design of classroom teaching activities.

Teacher Zhou used more than 30 kinds of teaching activities in the whole course, which is also the most time I have seen teachers use teaching activities since class. Although the knowledge load of the two-day course is a bit heavy, especially people are easy to get tired in the afternoon, during the whole process, the teacher designed an activity with a frequency of about 15 minutes. Such sleepless methods as card method, best take-away, lucky number, hydrangea throwing, bingo game, standing adjustment, homework assistance (loose pages), document center, yes or no, sitting-stretching-thinking, standing-stretching-talking, sneaking into the dragon gate, treasure hunting, card matching and replacement are also used in our usual curriculum design. It is better to move than to be still, so that students can move to improve the training effect, which can be improved by about 20%. It can promote people's brain to supply enough oxygen, which can be used in our curriculum design.

In addition, Mr. Zhou also specifically mentioned the classified guidance in the design of teaching activities. Guidance can be divided into strategy guidance, meeting guidance and teaching purpose guidance. People in the east and the west have different modes of thinking, different ways and purposes of meeting, and of course different guidance. Strategic meetings focus on the development after several years, imagine the future and determine the direction, such as private board meetings; Meetings lead to more efforts to realize * * * knowledge, such as World Coffee, ORID, Fish Tank Meeting, etc. The guidance of teaching purpose is short, flat and fast, so teaching activities are designed to achieve the teaching purpose, and teaching activities are also carried out to let students better understand and use the course content.

3. Enjoy the after-school course design materials.

During the two-day course, Mr. Zhou taught by four yuan and eight steps, and explained the key knowledge points in detail. He not only taught the logic principle and operation method of the four-element eight-step curriculum design in class, but also selflessly shared the exclusive information cheats of the four-element eight-step curriculum design after class, an 86-page student handbook, 1 1 work instruction leaflet and an activity data set (including 77 activities). Therefore, we are the same in curriculum design. Many materials don't need to be put in PPT. We can provide it in the form of work instruction manual. Some materials necessary for students to extend their study can also be provided by printing reference materials.

Ending:

Dr. Zhou Tao, who is well versed in Chinese and Western medicine, has made great achievements in many fields, such as neuroscience, human resources development, pedagogy, curriculum and design, performance support and so on. What is more commendable is that his sincere enthusiasm, gentleness and modesty, rigorous and scientific attitude towards learning deeply infected me. This course is the essence of Zhou Tao's decades of study and teaching, and it is still being improved. It is a rare excellent course for everyone who is eager for excellent course design and teaching.
